Sifan Hassan wearing her hijab to her gold medal crowning ceremony for the women’s marathon, after France banned females from wearing hijabs at the 2024 games. She is so powerful. What a woman! #Olympic2024 #ClosingCeremony
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
France banned its own athletes representing France from wearing hijabs due to a national law banning French public servants from wearing religious symbols. Athletes from other nations were free to wear hijabs or any other religious symbols.

Barbie’s opening weekend was $337M. That’s nearly 2x Oppenheimer’s $174M.
Warner Brother's insane ”Operation Barbie Summer” is a big part of that success.

Glad to see the Senate move forward on the Respect for Marriage Act today with bipartisan support. Look forward to its final passage so @POTUS can sign it into law and protect the rights of so many families across the country.

It brings me no great pleasure to say that for all intents and purposes, @TwitterA11y is defunct.
I wish it wasn't – there was so much we had planned – but here we are.
I don't know what's going to happen this weekend. I don't know if I'll still have a job next week, or if the team will exist any more.
But to everyone who's got in touch to offer support, either directly to me, or to @TwitterA11y, please know that you are hugely appreciated 🙏

So, the Accessibility Experience Team at Twitter is no longer. We had so much more to do, but we worked hard! There aren't very many people that have had the opportunity to make such an important global platform like Twitter accessible, but we understood the mission.
