The Government might actually just ban teenagers from existing
🚨 NEW: The Government is set to ban under-16s from eBay, Vinted and Depop over fears their messaging features allow adults to groom children

Anyone with a brain cell can see what's happening. Weaponising the moral panic over child safety to strengthen the surveillance state and handing law enforcement extremely generous discretionary powers to deal with any online dissent

Won't believe either Kemi or Shabana are serious about immigration until they start deporting their own parents.
Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy. Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse. The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong. And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇

Why not target stagnant incomes instead?? What good does this do except remind us how shite British salaries are.
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced employers will be legally required to publish salaries on job adverts "You should know what a job pays before spending your time and effort applying for it"

It might actually take another World War to fix anything structural in the UK. Russia can't bomb us fast enough

Glad we got that out of the way, it was the only thing holding us back from re-joining the EU
🚨 NEW: No 10 has insisted any ban on ketchup sachets in Britain would be a UK decision and is not part of the EU deal

It's a real shame that you also weren't indentured. Britain is worse off because of this
My ancestors worked as indentured labourers under the British Empire in Mauritius in the 1800s. Yes it was brutal and harsh. And it gave my ancestors the chance to earn a wage, acquire property, receive an education and benefit from healthcare- all possible thanks to the British Empire. We cannot keep teaching our young people a one-sided view of history. I trace the history in my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’.

Doesn't really matter anyway, the country's that shite people will start leaving of their own accord
Under the Earned Settlement model set out before Parliament today, the right to live in the UK permanently will no longer be granted automatically after five years. Instead, it will be earned. Under the reforms: ➡️The standard route to settlement will double from five to 10 years ➡️ People who enter illegally, including by small boat, face a wait of up to 30 years to settle ➡️ Care workers who meet the visa requirements will retain a five-year route ➡️ Higher earners on more than £50,000, skilled public service workers and refugees arriving on safe and legal routes will be able to settle in five years ➡️ Migrants who claim benefits face a 20-year wait for settlement ➡️ Migrants with a criminal record will be prevented from settling in the UK ➡️ Migrants will be required to meet A-level standard English to settle in the UK

Retroactively applying the law is just batshit crazy, and the supreme court has capitulated too. No thing as justice in the UK apparently

I don't remember Hegel advocating for a dystopian data surveillance company that specialises in winning government contracts
Alex Karp says Palantir is a philosophical project inspired by Hegel.

Will you do this to your Debit card?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Tap-to-pay needs the NFC antenna coil from the card, not just the gold EMV chip. Videos embedding only the chip typically do not work for contactless. Proper DIY is complex; buy commercial rings instead that tokenize your card. hackaday.com/2019/04/25/rfi… instructables.com/RFID-NFC-Tap-a…
