POV: You are about to witness a murder.
Replying to @SandyofCthulhu
Hi Sandy. Are you well? This is wrong. On January 1, 1993, we sent a press release saying that multiplayer would be in DOOM, a full 8 months before you joined the company. We knew deathmatch would be huge. In that press release, in January 1993, we said multiplayer would be "the number one cause of decreased productivity in businesses around the world." We were sure of it, and we needed no convincing. I understand you are proud of your work on DOOM, and you should be, but please also respect the accuracy of your statements, particularly around game history. My concern is that these false statements are designed to trigger replies (like this one), reposts, and outrage discussion, all with the view of increasing your followers and subscriptions, particularly since this false deathmatch story (among others) is so easily disproved. I’ve even welcomed you to reach out to me ahead of time. You seem to appreciate game history as much as I do. Could you not also make yours accurate?
Imagine thinking that migrant families are the same as the aliens from Halo. How fucking warped do you need to be to produce a thought like that? To look at real human beings fleeing violence and your brain instantly goes, 'Ah, the Covenant'? It shows a level of dehumanization that is genuinely sociopathic.

Teenage girls, especially Palestinian girls, aren’t fucking safe anywhere. “Not all men,” but all their viewers encourage and pay for sexually harassing children.
Guillotine. Fucking guillotine.

This doesn't look like a movie; it looks like a 5 min SNL sketch where the writers ran out of ideas and just decided to do a series of celebrity impressions.
The backlash was immediate. There were entire websites dedicated to hating Jar Jar Binks in 1999, and the actor Ahmed Best was harassed to the point of considering suicide. People were ripping the prequels apart before the credits even rolled on Episode I. This isn't social media revisionism; it's just history.
We're sending billions to Ukraine, and meanwhile, there are 150 people in a Kyiv call center every night whose only job is to steal life savings from Canadians. It's a wild feeling to fund a war effort while getting scammed by the same country's criminal networks.
If you're wondering who is behind those Jagmeet Singh duffel bag ads on here, know that it's part of a multi-billion dollar scam empire being run out of Eastern European call centers. It's an absolutely massive problem and Canada is a priority target.

I played the absolute shit out of the original. I put so many hours into that game that I'm pretty sure I never actually saw Alucard run facing forward. I just permanently held the shield button and back-dashed everywhere like a caffeinated maniac.
Peter Berg is out here talking about this like he's adapting All Quiet on the Western Front. 'The real soul of the Modern Warfare universe.' The soul of Modern Warfare is getting spawn-trapped on Rust while some guy named 'xX_Bluntz_Xx' tells you he banged your mom.
The "Call of Duty" movie based on "Modern Warfare" will not feel like a superhero film because the story is about "the cost of war and having to be a warrior."
“If you really look at the missions and the storylines and the characters like Captain Price, Soap, Ghost and Alex, these are complicated humans. These are not, and no disrespect, cartoon characters or comic books," says director Peter Berg. "These are very nuanced storylines; there’s a real soul to the ‘Modern Warfare’ universe. Yes, there’s violence and hardware and equipment and killing. But underneath it, I think the game, and the creators of the game, are really looking at the cost of war, the cost of having to be a warrior who’s, for whatever reason, chosen to put himself between real danger and the rest of us, and the burden that these guys carry.”

The guy who just made the best Godzilla movie in decades got baked, watched Robot Jox, and decided to make a mech movie with Paul Giamatti. Cinematic history is about to be made.
