Video excerpts from a walk I led on Hackney Marshes in October. This cut (15/150 mins) focuses on some tree history, river Lea history & Olympics. Nice nature shots to distract from my ramblings.

BBC radio4 news talking about 'migrant hostels'. These people are refugees, asylum seekers, entitled to a roof while their applications are considered. It's not their fault the Home Office isn't fit for purpose. @BBCRadio4 @BBCNews please don't stoke prejudice.

Everyone who's been part of this campaign: thank you. You made a difference. The oil industry is now less powerful because of you. And right now, the world needs every advantage it can get. #artnotoil #fossilfreeculture #climatejustice bp-or-not-bp.org/2023/08/20/…

We disabled people have launched a legal challenge against the consultation for closure of ticket offices.
@newdawn75 and I, with @LeighDay_Law, barristers and allies.
The consultation is a travesty, as are the proposals which are a wholesale attack.

Join us tomorrow night in S. Millfields for the free open-air Tree Circle Cinema with award-winning film All That Breathes. Sadly no food on sale because of hopeless mess of EHO guidance: traders don’t know what the rules are & neither do we. Massive frustration @hackneycouncil

We would like @hackneycouncil to prevent harm to #HackneyMarshes and the #RiverLea by objecting to plans for high-rise developments on #NewSpitalfields which will put the riparian habitat at further risk from population pressure and #pollution.

We have swifts in Hackney every summer, amazingly. Climate collapse threatens their migration patterns & modern buildings exclude them from nesting. Let's help them by providing nest spaces in all new buildings. Sign here.

This is such an intensely cool project and I hope the community comes together to fund it! It would be such a boost for all of us in East London- for health, for mental wellbeing and for climate and biodiversity. These kinds of solutions are where it’s at!
