I like the cute L that Brazilians are doing with their hands for Lula. I wish we had something like that in the US but we have to settle for politicians like Gavin Newsom

really? what a narrow view! Anderson did in fact write sympathetically & convincingly about girls & women; even Hemingway has a story from an adolescent girl's perspective, "Up in Michigan," that is a knockout; not to mention D.H. Lawrence, Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Hardy & (not least) Shakespeare. if men can't write about women, women presumably can't write about men. educated people can't write about lesser-educated people, Black writers can't write about brown people, people from Maine can't write about people from Vermont, no one can write about anyone except the sickly face in the mirror.

Yeah and he's a man purporting to write about a woman's inner life. I'll pass.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get some comfortable and stylish pants, ideally less than $150. Preferably not jeans. I need more casual wear pants I’m getting too fat for mine and my one comfortable pair of Philip lim pants are falling apart

I'm also voting against this because I hate that DC's ballot initiative system has become a playground for out-of-state progressive groups seeking national attention for their causes.
I am voting against the foie gras ban because I am offended that anyone is spending time, money and energy on this. I don’t eat that nastiness, I hate the process, but this is not a good use of resources

We need some kinda varsity internet where teenagers can argue their hyperbolic opinions based on their limited world view amongst themselves so I can stop seeing dumb Obsession takes and derivative cancel campaigns from iPad babies who now have anime pfp accounts and an iphone.

We shouldn’t be encouraging bad behavior
There's been a flurry of talk this month in the D.C. Council about whether parking and traffic fines should be reduced. But the reality is that making tickets cheaper for drivers will be costly for the city, and that could complicate any real action: washingtonsun.com/metro/dc-r…
