HPS Press Release - Suspect arrested with the munchies in Hanover's Industrial Park. A 37-year-old male remains in custody charged with several offences. A BIG thank you to @hanoverfd for their assistance. #TeamWork #NotInOurTown
A big thank you to Hi-Tech DKI for donating a box of teddy bears to Hanover Fire Department!
We give these bears to children involved in MVCs, rescues, or other upsetting situations. While our firefighters work, the bear provides comfort and helps a child feel a little safer.
Thank you for helping us help others—especially our youngest community members.

HFD responded to a water rescue on the Saugeen River near Hanover Park today after 2 patients and their dog capsized their canoe and got stranded on a fallen tree mid-river. @ChiefKnoll @GreyParamedics @CountyofBruce @OwenSoundPolice
The patients did everything right: properly fitted PFDs, a means of communication, and preparedness for an emergency. Great example of being #BoatSmart on the water.
Hanover Fire crews are mid-way through a busy week of training, including low-light slope rescue scenarios. Members are locating patients using What3Words, building rope systems, triaging, and completing safe extrications.
Our drone provides overwatch to the IC for real-time scene awareness.
At the same time, recruits are continuing Firefighter I prep ahead of testing next week.
Great work by all members so far—training continues.

What a weekend for Hanover Fire Department! While responding to emergencies, members completed NFPA 1006 Vehicle Extrication training, supported Touch-a-Truck events, and joined Special Olympics athletes on the ball diamond. Proud of our team! #HanoverFire
Last night, our firefighters took part in a training session focused on building construction and flow paths, two critical components of modern fireground operations.
We began with a walkthrough of a new residential construction project, examining key building features,
The training continued with hands-on evolutions using our fire dynamics prop, where members demonstrated:
Flow path development and control
The importance of door control
Reading and interpreting the thermal imaging camera Identifying off-gassing and changing fire conditions
Training like this reinforces how ventilation, access, and coordination directly impact fire behavior, and ultimately firefighter safety and effective attack procedures. Continuous learning. Realistic training. Operational readiness. #HanoverFire #TrainingNight #FireDynamics
