Nah… I like old Roman techniques like the slide. It was a short slide tied to razor sharp blades that forked out to many. It would cause hundreds to thousands of paper cuts all over your body. The end would be a vat of spirits (alcohol). You would be somewhat conscious. Then they feed you to the crocodiles.

In the spring of 1978, Donny Osmond stood at a crossroads that few teen idols ever chose to face head-on. At 20, he was still the face of screaming crowds, magazine covers, and the kind of adoration that treated him more like public property than a person. Yet he had already made up his mind: he would marry 19-year-old Debra “Debbie” Glenn of Billings, Montana. The two had known each other since childhood and had dated quietly for years while Donny’s career as a solo heartthrob and half of Donny & Marie reached its peak. When he told his father, George Osmond, of the plan, the response was blunt. “Well, there goes your career,” his father said, “but this is ushering in your personal life.” Managers and handlers echoed the warning. A married teen idol, they argued, would shatter the fantasy that sold records and filled arenas. Donny refused to treat the relationship as something to conceal. He would not trade Debbie for the continued roar of the crowd. The reaction arrived quickly once the news broke. Fans who had imagined him permanently available sent scathing letters to Debbie. Some held record-burning parties. Ticket sales softened, and the carefully cultivated image of the forever-available idol began to crack. The couple faced the storm without retreat. Debbie, described by Donny as the steady presence who understood a complicated life, stayed beside him. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 8, 1978. The years that followed tested more than fan loyalty. The Donny & Marie show ended the next year. Career valleys arrived, including difficult Broadway reviews and a period Donny has called his “dark years.” Through it, Debbie remained the constant. Donny has said that without her he would have been a mess, and that she became the person with whom he could build a future rather than merely survive public demand. They raised five sons and eventually welcomed a large number of grandchildren while Donny rebuilt a lasting career that included Las Vegas residencies, television, and stage work. By 2026 the marriage had reached 48 years. Donny has often noted that the loudest applause proved temporary, while the quieter commitment did not. He has described Debbie as both the love of his life and the anchor who kept him grounded when the industry’s expectations shifted. The side-by-side of the young couple and the later one captures the same choice made again and again: the public image could be adjusted or lost, but the marriage was not negotiable. What began as a calculated risk against the advice of those protecting a teen-idol brand became, in the long view, the decision that outlasted the fame itself. 🌹

Southern WV knows all about such Biblical disasters. It's hard to put the terror-the pain and loss into words. She did a good job. The Buffalo Creek Disaster, Logan County WV was terrifying. Appalachia should stand together on this flooding.

That storm was engineered to gain traction and energy on land. That storm was a miracle - because no storm is capable of doing what Helene did without help.
