#DJI to #Gold ratio chart In layman's terms, rising candles indicate that the Dow Jones is outperforming gold, and vice versa. Chart #1 highlights the decade 1960-1970. Prior to the mentioned decade, the ratio had been steadily rising. Then it went sideways, and then 'Humpty-Dumpty' had a great fall. The price of gold skyrocketed as this ratio plummeted.

Shouting “Jai Shri Ram” at the top of your lungs during a morning walk doesn’t make it okay to disturb everyone. Faith is personal; civic sense is basic. 🤷‍♂️

Crucial test ahead, next week for the broader market! #Nifty500 is approaching its weekly triangle support trendline just as the #Nifty500/#Nifty ratio is close to the 50% #Fibonacci level. The 50% Fib held firmly during the last major pullback. Keep an eye on the reversal signal

SHORT POST: #RelianceJio IPO   I haven’t heard a single critique of this IPO from anyone so far. So on the festive season of Dussehra, that stands for the victory of good over evil, I don’t want to be the evil one. Having said this, here are some facts.   The basics The IPO is just a 3% share dilution that wipes off the Rs 30K debt. 3% sale will create a scramble & scarcity premium where people want to grab a share of the story. There is no real price discovery on such low free float. Jio is trying to benchmark Airtel at $110 - 120 BN and add a reliance growth premium to that. The strategy  for IPO pricing seems fine relative to India valuation basket. But the argument look overstretched when we compare to global players. Verizon and AT&T are valued at $177 BN & $154 BN respectively.   Jio at $16 Billion revenue & 14% growth rate (5 year avg), it may take another 20 years to catch up to AT&T revenues (Assume rupee depreciation rate of 4%). But Jio is asking for almost 70% of market cap as of the American peers today. So clearly, asking IPO price is not comparable internationally. But considering Airtel valuations, it seems okay.   The Headwinds: The listing would make Jio one of the top 5 companies in India on market cap. How much future returns do you expect from top 5 company in India for next decade? You decide. The buy case gets weaker when we examine the 14% revenue growth achieved largely on the growth of 530 Million subscribers. Compared to the avg ARPU of $45 for American counterparts, the ARPU for Indian wireless customers has stayed notoriously stagnant below  $2 per month (INR 200) since last 20 years (on nominal basis). So the bull case of rapidly improving ARPU looks like an impossibility given the experience of last 2 decades.   Final take: If this gets a listing pop or appreciation of 30%, we’re looking at the biggest telecom company in the world on market cap. Ready for that. ? In a market devoid of serious technology plays & overstretched valuations, investors would latch on to anything that promises enterprise technology driven future. The IPO market may be underestimating the investments that are needed to be that technology player vs what it is today – a utility telecom services provider. Hope that doesn’t make me the evil one. Enjoy the party. My discussion with NDTV Profit.

The #Nifty50 / G-Sec weekly ratio is back at the magic 30 RSI mark, sitting right on multi-year trendline support. We need the ratio to crawl back above the trendline. #equities #bonds #investing

And, when did “Opposition-motivated” become a disqualification for public protest? Of course the Opposition is playing a pivotal role. THAT’S ITS JOB- IN A DEMOCRACY - to question the government, mobilise public opinion and hold those in power accountable.💁🏻‍♀️

It’s time for the fence-sitters and those engaged in careful political calculus to speak up. Silence is increasingly becoming a position in itself. I stand unequivocally for the right to peaceful protest, and against the use of State power to suppress it.

Blind supporters of Ambani calling Starlink and @elonmusk a national security threat to India. Starlink is a subsidiary of SpaceX. Same SpaceX, which put India’s GSAT-20 into orbit and flew Gaganyatri Shubhanshu Shukla to the ISS on Falcon 9 + Dragon. Entire India celebrated. ISRO and Indian startups hitched rides on the same Falcon 9. None of them launched from the roof of Antilia. Seth ji didn’t build the rocket, Gaganyatri was not trained in Vantara, and your hyper-nationalists didn’t put those satellites up. That was @SpaceX and now you’re blocking its Starlink in India. Support the best technology and the brightest minds in the world. That's how a country progress, India will progress, consumers will get benefits !

Starlink has an Indian license, 20 ground stations on Indian soil, and a promise to keep Indian user data in India. What it doesn't have is permission to switch on. Thousands of Indian villages still have no 4G. In the Northeast alone, more than 1,800 had no mobile signal of any kind as of February, most of them in Arunachal Pradesh. These are the places satellite internet is built for: mountain villages, islands, flood zones, anywhere a tower or a fiber line takes years and a lot of money to arrive. Starlink has done what India asked. It got its telecom license in June 2025 and space regulator approval a month later. It built India-specific security controls, agreed to keep data local, and has been reporting the names, addresses and coordinates of its test terminals to the government every two weeks. It operates in more than 150 countries. In India it still can't sell a single subscription, and the company is now talking about early 2027. New Delhi says nobody is being singled out, since Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio's satellite venture are stuck at the same stage. I believe that, and I don't think it helps. When three licensed operators, two of them backed by India's biggest telecom groups, can't clear security review after more than a year of trials, that tells you the process has no deadline. It doesn't tell you it's thorough. The security concerns are real. Indian agencies have been rattled by smuggled terminals turning up in border areas, and India is entitled to lawful interception, local data storage and an emergency shutoff. Starlink has already signed up for all of it. The answer to a misused terminal is enforcement, not keeping the service dark for everyone who would use it legally. Elon Musk has been blunt, calling the delay "a crime against the people of India" and asking, "Is Ambani the real boss of India?" You don't need to buy the whole oligarch theory to see his point. Reliance spent months lobbying for spectrum auctions that would have favored deep-pocketed incumbents. The government sided with Starlink on that one, which is to its credit. Now it needs to finish the job. India can keep every security power it wants and still let a kid in Arunachal get online. Right now it's choosing not to.
