Regarding Viv's post on #HazbinHotel Season 3 & 4 a little while ago, this specific drink has me thinking very hard about how the story of Odysseus and Calypso could very heavily allude to what happened between Lucifer and Lilith and her disappearance. This is gonna be a long one, sorry lol To preface, this is merely my own speculation of what could have potentially happened. I just really like theorising and deep diving into potential storyline. So there will be a lot of 'what ifs' in this, however I will follow through with the alluding mythology to coincide with my ideas as well as the facts we already know in the story. To begin, both stories take place over 7 years. Odysseus is held captive by Calypso for 7 years against his will. What if Lilith was held captive against her will for those 7 years? We know very vaguely about Lilith and the 'Resist' campaign. If you recall what Vox said very candidly about her, "Just over seven years ago, Lilith had a dream. With her song, she rallied the sinners of Hell to attack Heaven in an effort to liberate us. But before she could wage her war, she disappeared." We have come to know that he genuinely seems to look up to Lilith and so, these words are genuine. So with this knowledge, we know that Lilith was trying to start an uprising against Heaven. We don't know why but of course, as a result, this would anger Heaven. In the story of Odysseus, he and his men angered the Gods in numerous ways. Odysseus by blinding Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon. And his crew by slaughtering the cattle of the God Helios. Helios demands that they be punished otherwise he will shine the sun down in the Underworld, resulting in the gods waging war on the crew at sea and causing Odysseus to be stranded alone on an island with Calypso for 7 years. I propose that in retaliation for the uprising, Lilith was held captive for 7 years. During these 7 years, this is when the exterminations began and I believe that the gods waging war alludes to the exterminations. We unfortunately have very little to go on regarding Lilith but in the story of Calypso, she fell madly in love with Odysseus and wished for him to stay with her forever. We do, however, know that Adam, Lute and Sera are supposedly the only people in Heaven who knew of Lililth's existence in Heaven. We also know that Lilith was the first wife of Adam, so though the love may not have been there (or perhaps it still was?), the relationship aspect still exists and I shall explain why I believe Adam plays a key part in this in a moment. The only scenes we have seen thus far of Lilith have been on a beach or by the shoreline, looking out over the sea. We see her looking at her phone, specifically with Lucifer and Charlie's missed calls. With regards to Odysseus, it was said he sat weeping on the shore, looking out to the ocean, pining for his wife and son and his life outside of his captivity. Then came the divine intervention that allowed Odysseus his freedom and return to Ithaca and to his wife and son. A departure of Poseidon from Mt Olympus meant that there was a chance of escape across the ocean. Athena was his patron God and in Poseidon's absence, was free to injerject and plea to Zeus for his freedom. Athena's pleas were about Odysseus being a good father and a just leader. I previously mentioned Adam being relevant in this whole plot. Now that Adam is gone, SOMEONE was free to plea for Lilith's return to Hell. There could be several people that this could be. I know a lot of people suspect Rosie being involved, but what if Charlie's phonecalls were that plea? Lilith is a mother and under the assumption from Charlie's utter desperation for approval and want to see her, we can assume she is a mother that is longed for. The result in Calypso's ordeal was that she was furious in being overidden by the Gods and angered by their double standards of fidelity, she agreed to let him go. This then poses the question, will Lilith be released? Will she return to Hell? And will there be a deep seated anger that she may return? Who would be angry? The only people who knew of her being there were Adam, Lute and Sera and I think we all know which of the three is the angry one and the one who holds grudges among those three. Then comes the return of Odysseus, disguised as a beggar so that none would recognise him. What if, when/if Lilith were to return she returned not as herself but in disguise? Of course, this is absolutely me just having a bit of fun with guessing and theorising but there are definitely parallels between the two stories. It's also 7am and I haven't been to bed yet so if this is super rambly and makes no sense, I did it all in one take on no sleep SORRY xD
