New trial involving chronic subdural hematoma shows that dexamethasone treatment was not found to be noninferior to burr-hole drainage with respect to functional outcomes and was associated with more complications and a higher likelihood of later surgery.

The #PERFEQTOS #trial implemented #performance #feedback in a stepped-wedge cluster #RCT in 13 Dutch hospitals & showed that #feedback works in acute #stroke care!👇⌚️🧠
It reduced door-to-groin time by 5 minutes, corresponding to more than a 9% reduction in time.

Had the honor of presenting the IRIS pooling results at #ISC2023. Key message: despite randomization of >2000 patients, no significant non-inferiority of EVT alone but also no benefit of lytic before EVT. Lytics should not delay/prohibit EVT! #AllEyesOnIRIS @StrokeAHA_ASA
