I think they rented that townhouse for the show. The furnishings give it away. I also found it odd that the kids were asking which floor to go to, as if they don’t know the house. There is always a HW or couple on every show living above their means and they are it. #RHONY

Mariah Carey sat down with a song she says she barely knew how to play. It has earned an estimated $103 million.
Billboard estimates "All I Want for Christmas Is You" brought in almost $8.5 million in a single year (2022). Its estimate of Mariah's own cut: $2.7 to $3.3 million.

Her own words on Fallon:
"The label was like, you should do a Christmas album. I was like, really? It seems kind of early in my life to do that."
"I actually played a lot of that myself, and I'm a terrible piano player."
"That's why that song has a different type of chord progression. Because I don't know what I'm doing."
Her co-writer, Walter Afanasieff, tells it differently: "She doesn't play keyboard or piano." He is credited on the song, and by Billboard's math he splits the publishing with her 50/50.
Then a country singer sued her for at least $20 million, claiming she copied his 1989 song with the same title.
In March 2025 a federal judge threw it out. The two songs only shared "Christmas song clichés." Mariah was awarded $92,303 in sanctions.
So who really earned the $103 million: the woman with the melody in her head, or the man at the keyboard?
