We chat about
- How Satish got into running
- How running has changed over the years
- His first marathon
- His most memorable marathon (couldn't pick one!)
- One overrated thing runners spend their money on
Here it is.
Our chat ran over 20min and it was a challenge to keep it short. We tried our best.
And on that note happy Diwali/Deepavali everyone!

When CoVID affected our families, snatched our friends from us, both @shailjasingh75 and I, though not virologists, decided we should do something. Here, we report discovery of a mechanism that, when targeted, kills the virus. Link: sciencedirect.com/science/ar… indiatoday.in/science/story/…

Mr. Kannan, with all due respect, I don’t think your tweet fully captures the reality of professional badminton.
A first-round exit at Wimbledon earns £80,000. Winning the China Open, one of badminton’s richest tournaments, earns $140,000. Lose in the first round? Just $2,000.
Yet our expenses are largely similar. Travel, coaches, physios, trainers and support teams. I’ve had long conversations with Rohan Bopanna about this very disparity.
I agree that established athletes should strive to be financially independent. I’ve been fortunate to have wonderful sponsors, but not everyone has that privilege. That’s also why organisations like @OGQ_India are so important.
More importantly, if you read Mihir’s article in full, you’ll see that younger players had to compete without coaches, while several withdrew from tournaments.
I can find ways to fund my tour. But what about the 18-year-old chasing her dreams, hoping to become the next Sindhu or Lakshya?
And I must acknowledge the tremendous support the Government of India and @Media_SAI have extended to athletes like us over the years. Their contribution to Indian sport cannot be understated.
Accountability is absolutely necessary. But supporting athletes isn’t bleeding the system. It’s investing in India’s sporting future. And we shouldn’t lose sight of that.
How long will our elite athletes, who are professionals, bleed the system.
I mean, can not a PV Sindhu or Lakshya Sen fund own tours.
Look at a sport like tennis, players get nothing.
I will not find fault with @Media_SAI here
How long before someone copies this in India?
YouTuber Browney was SHOCKED after visiting China’s FAT LOSS PRISON, where overweight people spend at least 30 DAYS doing nothing but trying to LOSE WEIGHT, and ended up dropping 5.2 LBS in just 48 HOURS 😳🔥
For just $400 a month, EVERYTHING is included, from accommodation to three LOW-CALORIE meals a day, with participants required to work out FOUR TIMES DAILY and get WEIGHED every morning and night

Danke schön, GERMANYYYYY!!!!!!! 🇩🇪❤️🏆
They say 31 is the new 21. I’m not going to argue. 😉😂
Through every high and every low, by Hanuman Ji’s grace. 🙏❤️
Still chasing. Always.
I've followed Anshul's fitness journey for a while now, and anyone who's done the same knows he is more than a protein bro :)
He has taken up long distance running seriously enough to get a coach and he even completed his first half marathon last month.
So, when he said he's building a platform where athletes can come and talk health and science, I couldn't say no.
Excited to see where this goes!
Excited to bring @heyaCPK on @FreeGymAI
I met Karthik at my first cubbon run post shifting to Bangalore.
He’s a national level table tennis athlete and building a daily use electrolyte brand.
This will be the first electrolyte brand to create their community on FreeGym.
I used Daily nectar ( his brand) for the run, today. No paid promotion.
We invite more brands with evidence based approach to join FreeGym early.
Eventually, everyone will be on FreeGym.
But the early creators, brands to be with us at this stage will benefit hugely.
I’ll share his community when it’s live.
Is it time we move from
“Taxation like Europe and Sub Saharan city infra”
to
“Taxation like Europe, Sub Saharan city infra and Remittance controls like China”?
Worst of all worlds.

What picking up the phone and talking to customers unlocks
I was speaking to a customer today and was honestly blown away by what I heard.
He did not find us on X or Instagram. He found us on ChatGPT.
He specifically asked for a low sodium, clean hydration product and Daily Nectar was the first one to show up.
He's a former competitive sports athlete so of course he understood why low sodium.

Perception is reality.
Unless we fix our public infrastructure, clean up our cities and make people from other nations want to tour India other than for spiritual purposes this will not change.
Until India develops, based on the talents of our own people, we will not find true respect in the world, no matter whether right, left or center is in charge anywhere.
The racist shows us a mirror and asks: "if your nation is smart, why do you want to come here". I do not hate him, I want to respond by building.
Some Indians agree with the racist and think India will never develop. I do not hate them either, I want to respond by building.
Companies and nations are built by people who believe it can be done.
The urgent national priority is to build, build and build.
One lesser known thing about electrolytes is that they help with the energy crashes during menstrual periods too.
Few of our customers use Daily Nectar specially at that time of the month.
Drinking salts the moment I know a migraine is going to hit me has changed the game for me.
Thanks to @heyaCPK for sharing this trick with me
I am a lover of DailyNectar's pineapple salts

Working from home is becoming depressing.
Any offices in Indiranagar from where I can work out of?
We can have productive conversations around health.
Twitter, do your thing.
Great example of “use your privilege”.
Folks saying everyone doesn’t have a filmmaker brother and the budget and resources to make a 4min film don’t get that.
She used whatever she had to do this.
You all too should.
Hi, it's Darshita. I am a designer.
And I'm pitching myself in public 'cause I'm done with a year full of anxiety.
Everyone says design is dead and AI killed it. But the real parasite was hiding in plain sight.
So here's my film, DESIGN IS DEAD. She's bold, fearless and very PINK 💖
