I've confirmed the roaming capability using a Cityroam AP.
Is your university still bothering students/staff with cumbersome eduroam configuration? End users don't need to type in or even know the ID/password!

I started Cityroam, brought the very first OpenRoaming to Japan, our local federation helped quick deployment, ... and this signing ceremony today.

Many people report that X doesn't allow turning off Grok in the privacy settings until they take the user's birthday. Don't you want to take an action, GDPR?
Never try configuring eduroam manually in this Wi-Fi setting menu! If you did that, your laptop may not be able to join eduroam network at different locations.

Use of geteduroam is recommended.
If you find an off-campus eduroam in Japan, please try finding SSID "cityroam". If it exists, the access point is operated by Cityroam's member operator. OpenRoaming should also be available at the same place.

Boingo Passpoint (Unlimited plan) doesn't work at Gare de l'Est and CDG. Sad. I've never seen any place where it's usable for about a year.

If it kills the awful captive portal, we’ll all be happy

This is good to see - major OpenRoaming deployment in Japan by a unit of @official_kddi called Wire & Wireless / Wi2
Good for visitors as Japan often v expensive for mobile roaming & hard to get local SIMs
.@Boingo Passpoint secure was working well at Gare de l'Est in Paris in June this year. It was a good surprise to me. It doesn't work any more now. I didn't change the profile. I tried a newly downloaded profile as well. Authentication fials. Has the service shut down?
