The life you want won't chase you. You have to chase it. What are you chasing this week?

Scripture, Timing, and Humility Reflection Sometimes God uses the quiet of the night to speak to us, letting us know that He is moving us into a new season and a new time. If you are currently navigating a season of transition, waiting, or displacement, these scriptures lay out a powerful blueprint of His timing, His protection, and His ultimate purpose for your life. Daniel 14:23-30 The historical context: In this passage, Daniel refuses to worship a massive, living dragon that the masses and the king revered as powerful and important to the world. Using simple, ordinary materials, Daniel exposed the public idol as completely hollow, showing that the collective culture was bowing to an illusion. The message for everyone: God knows when your heart is focused on substance and on people rather than wealth, fame, or worldly status. This scripture is a reminder that true alignment with God means looking past the flashy, deceptive icons of success that the world worships, and valuing what truly matters. Lamentations 4:20-22 The historical context: Written after Jerusalem was stripped bare and the people faced deep affliction, ruin, and isolation, this book captures a time of immense hardship. However, verse 22 marks a precise, legal turnaround, declaring that Zion’s punishment is accomplished and her time away is finally over. The message for everyone: If you have been walking through a long, difficult season of isolation or feeling set aside, God is declaring that your time away is coming to an end. Past chapters of struggle are being closed out, completed, and forgiven by His mercy. He will not leave you alone forever; restoration is on the horizon. Jeremiah 49:34-39 The historical context: This is a prophecy against Elam, an ancient nation feared for its elite archers and military bows. God declared He would break their bow—completely disarming their main source of power—and scatter the people to the four winds of the earth. Yet, the passage concludes with the absolute promise that in the days to come, He would restore their fortunes. The message for everyone: God often allows the past to be broken, requiring us to leave behind what we have known as we are scattered into new places by the winds of circumstance. But even when you feel exposed in the world, the enemy's bow is broken. You are completely covered by His protection so that nothing spiritual can touch you, and He is moving you into the exact place where He intends for you to be. Sirach 3:17-29 The historical context: This was a counter-cultural manual for people living under a Greek empire that was completely obsessed with financial wealth, material competition, and grand public displays of power. Sirach commands that true favor with God is found only in lowliness and performing daily tasks with humility, which carries far more weight than a rich giver of physical gifts. The connection to Jesus and the Last Supper: This Old Testament instruction on humility finds its ultimate fulfillment in the New Testament during the Last Supper (John 13). Jesus, knowing He held all authority, wrapped a towel around His waist, poured water into a basin, and washed the dusty feet of His disciples. He explicitly taught them that the first must be last, and the last must be first, demonstrating that in God's kingdom, the greatest position is that of a servant. The message for everyone: You do not need worldly wealth, grand status, or material riches to fulfill God's purpose. We are often redeemed and refined by the fires of the struggles we endure, making us worthy to serve His community. Even when you feel reluctant, fearful, or keep saying "no" to the call, God's sovereign purpose will prevail—the first shall be last, and the last shall be first. Remain completely humble, trust His timing, and know that He is bringing you into a place of deep community, where you will be surrounded by support, stability, and the presence of the Lord

The smartest people I know aren’t the ones with all the answers. They’re the ones still willing to look stupid in public for a better question.
