Children should not be taught to guess at words. They should be taught to properly decode and read them. When a child with dyslexia develops a habit of guessing at words, it is very damaging to their reading accuracy and comprehension. #Dyslexia #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth #ADHD

A sneak peek into our fundations lessons with 1B! @CentralES1
Children with dyslexia sometimes act out, simply because they feel overwhelmed or embarrassed. During these moments, they may not be able to verbalize what they are feeling and express that they need help, but help and understanding are exactly what they need. #Dyslexia #ADHD

There is a myth that methods used to teach reading to children with dyslexia are not beneficial for other students. This is not true! Structured reading instruction methods, such as Orton-Gillingham, are tremendously beneficial for all students. #Dyslexia #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth
