Mark Harris, whose 2018 campaign cheated to the point the result was annulled and the election re-run in 2019, is the only Republican the NYT has protected to win a House seat out of North Carolina.
Doomers: “we’re all gonna die”
Accels: “nobody will ever die again”
Everything is about AI, except AI. AI is about death.
A lot of the supposedly-sophisticated British progressive movement behave indistinguishably from MAGA. They propose inane harmful policies and, when criticised, hurl sexualised insults at their opponents.
Harrison Moore retweeted
Yeah, there will be no pivot to the center. This is what you get when you have an 80-year-old president who doesn't really gaf about the future of the Republican Party.
Vance won’t resign in protest against Trump, any more than AOC would resign her congressional seat in protest against him.
He’s effectively unfireable: elected in his own right, a heartbeat from the presidency, and under no obligation to agree with Trump.
MAGA may be dying at last, but Britain’s governing party still contains many anti-democratic lunatics…

Many are overlooking that some of the incoming Ds are VERY economically populist. Turek in Iowa supports price controls… Andrews in SC wants to weaken the filibuster…
I feel vindicated
People are underrating the chance Trump is removed from office before 2029.
I’m not willing to say it’s more likely than not… but:
1. Rs would fare better in Nov ‘28 without Trump as pres.
2. Trump has unique pathologies Vance lacks.
3. Trump has committed impeachable acts.
NEW: Republican sources in Tennessee tell me President Trump is “encouraging” Governor-elect Marsha Blackburn to appoint Pete Hegseth to her U.S. Senate seat.
Blackburn could resign imminently.
That would let outgoing Governor Bill Lee name Hegseth quickly and give Trump time to get a new Pentagon chief confirmed during the lame-duck session.
to believe Trump will be removed, you have to believe 12 GOP senators (Fetterman would acquit) will vote for conviction, and that the twice-bitten-now-shy Ds will launch the process. I can’t shake the feeling that at this point the second point is actually the heavier lift…
Underrated source of uncertainty. We’ve never seen Trump with a blue senate that can block his every appointment.
Somewhat more trivial point, but we’ve never had a Trump *as President* who know’s his presidency is a lame duck, except for the 14 days from Jan 7 2020.
Before Tuesday, ~64% of the American data centre buildout was in states with a Republican governor.
Because of their six gains, almost 80% will be in states led by a Democrat.
Texas alone comprises almost two-thirds of that swing.
