After 3 months of hard work, @bigtarkin and I would like to showcase Tarkov: Lambda — a Counter-Strike derivative modification set in #EscapeFromTarkov

10th-Order Ambisonic generation via Analytic Mesh Projection onto Three Frequency-Specific SH Coefficients, enabling Polygonal Distance Attenuation and Air Absorption Modelling using modified Steam Audio.

Molotovs are so fun #EscapeFromTarkov

1v4 Retake Clutch? 🤯 (Airdrop Special) #EscapeFromTarkov #CounterStrike #Lambda

This is how Ambisonic Sound Field Resolution looks like. This shape is fed into a Binaural Effect to make flat audio sound realistic.

Some night CS Tarkov gameplay again. #EscapeFromTarkov #CounterStrike

Here's some cool 3D Audio Visualization :) I've been writing SIMD-Vectorized and Multi-Threaded Acoustic Audio Engine. It uses rooms and portals to generate up to 3rd Order Spherical Harmonic Coefficients that are batch fed into Steam Audio's Ambisonic Decoder.

Did a deep dive into Steam Audio’s algorithms and wrote a visualizer to explore them. it uses A*/Djikstra for propagation, and quasi-random volumetric raycast clouds for occlusion. It's just not dynamic or performant enough - I'm going to rewrite it :)

I love living in Western Canada btw.

Some Night Time Dust 2 Gameplay #EscapeFromTarkov

Finalizing Bomb Sound Effects, really happy with the result #EscapeFromTarkov

Nothing like awp_india and some bazookas. #EscapeFromTarkov

In Tarkov Lambda — Night rounds are an integral part of the gameplay, occurring in the final 3 rounds of a side. #EscapeFromTarkov

What if we met on inferno at night? #EscapeFromTarkov

The essence of perfect horror is imposing the primal terror of standing in a space too vast, too silent, too indifferent to your presence.

Is this enough reverb?

Alongside many other things - thief is a testament to how player agency paired with great ambience can create unrivaled immersion.

No one said you can't reintegrate Steam Audio in Tarkov.

Negative Lighting is Tarkov's secret sauce.
