I wrote about @theofficialai3 infamous ‘practice’, which came 7 months after his best friend Rah was murdered, & how the clip turned a grieving Black man into a punchline. Grief deserves to be honored. This may be the only practice that matters. iramema.substack.com/p/a-eul…

I drew a lot from Socrates’ Phaedo, Jesmyn Ward’s Men We Reaped, & my great grandmother. Thanks for meeting me here. Let grief transform you

Hov said he picks halftime performers based on who had a big year. Well, Hov dominated 2026 so I wouldn’t be surprised if he picked himself. (Beyoncé joins in stage to announce act iii)

And it’s not lost on me too that to countries in Europe are having major protests, one has been protesting for more than 100 days. Yet, we only get coverage of France. Show them Albania real quick. I wanna see something

Yes, they’re both white, but Albania’s protesting their Zionist prime minister making a deal with the Kushner to sell a portion of protected land so they could build their resorts. Media gotta do better. The only coverage I’ve seen of it is from the BBC.

please donate and share widely winter is coming
Everyone who has been saying they want to help Gaza and support its people needs to do more than just talk. Sharing this campaign is the bare minimum. Gaza is heading into another winter, and people are still living in tents, exposed to the rain and cold. If you mean it when you say you stand with Gaza, prove it. Share this campaign. Help us reach people. Do something before the rain comes. gaza-city.org/campaign/6?lan…

The making of the beat for Jay-Z's "Where I'm From." As explained by producer Ron "Amen-Ra" Lawrence – who created it on an Akai MPC3000 and Roland JV-2080 synthesizer, flipping a sample of Yvonne Fair’s “Let Your Hair Down.”

If the purpose of documentary filmmaking is to recover histories that have been distorted, suppressed, and erased, what justifies introducing artificially generated details into the very historical evidence folks are attempting to recover? And what happens when the technology used to reclaim history becomes a tool for rewriting it?

2026 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay’s commitment to universal legal principles and her firm moral compass are constants in a long career. Born into a family of Indian Tamil origin under apartheid in Durban, South Africa, Pillay became a lawyer and legal pioneer, confronting deep structural discrimination, segregation and exclusion. A common thread runs from her early work defending Nelson Mandela and others who stood up against apartheid to her service as a judge in some of the key international court cases of our time. This year’s laureate has significantly enlarged the scope and impact of international law. She has served as a judge on the High Court in South Africa, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Court. She was the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and, until recently, she chaired the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Today Navi Pillay is a judge on the International Court of Justice in the case where Myanmar stands accused of genocide. In historic international court cases, she has shown that legal measures can help prevent acts of war and violence. Navi Pillay has also contributed to strengthen the institutions of international law. Her independence, expertise and steadfastness have made her one of the most respected international jurists of our time.
