Toronto woke up to the worst air quality on the planet Wednesday morning.
Wildfire smoke drifting south from northwestern Ontario triggered an orange air quality alert from Environment Canada, with poor conditions expected to persist into Thursday. A heat warning also remains active with temperatures feeling closer to 36 with humidity.
Residents are urged to stay indoors with windows closed.
