“ As specialists in land acquisition, design, and planning for sustainable data centres and large-scale Battery Energy Storage projects, we work with hyperscalers and data centre operators to identify and develop strategically located sites that support growth while aligning with responsible development and sustainable design principles.” apatura.energy/ Do you want companies like this in Scotland taking over our land, our natural resources , our sovereign territory?

@IndyScotParty are trying like a bear to be recognised since 2020 when they introduced voting for two different indy parties. So there are routes ...we just need to be brave enough to take them.

“ Alyn Smith ‘Insults’ AI Objectors …… by comparing those who object to AI centres to those who would have dismissed the lightbulb as a ‘dangerous anti-candle device’, and apparently rejects the Environmental Impact Assessment (EAI) which has concluded that the site proposed for a mega-AI centre in Larbert would have a ‘major adverse’ effect on operational and construction greenhouse has emissions’ as well as dismissing fears of significant health implications for local residents and loss of amenity. It’s okay though. Smith tried to calm their fears by saying that the Scottish government was ‘establishing an observatory to track AI’s impact on jobs and how the technology is being used’. Perhaps they should have modelled the possible results before plunging headlong into a Scotland covered in Data Centres? He thinks it will be sunshine all the way. But Dr Kat Jones of Action to Protect Rural Scotland is doubtful about the economic benefits, saying AI centres bring few jobs. She echoes that a proper in-depth assessment should be carried out, prior to which there should be a pause on AI datacentres. Sounds like anything for money “ isp.scot/october-31st-novemb…

This a post from @Fionanel on @facebook Now the dust has settled, I've had a proper look at the full preference figures from the Mid Argyll by-election. I wanted to come back and thank you again, because these numbers tell a story the headline result doesn't. 264 of you gave me your 2nd preference. That's the second highest of all seven candidates, ahead of the Conservatives, Reform and the SNP. Add in 1st and 3rd preferences and over 450 of you put me in your top three 💙 For a small party with a wee team on foot, I'm really proud of that. It tells me a lot of you liked what I stood for, even if your first vote went elsewhere this time. This matters for May. In the full council elections, Mid Argyll elects THREE councillors, and preferences can carry a candidate over the line. So every number you put on that ballot paper really does count. “ Thank you for every one of them. I'll keep speaking up for Mid Argyll, and I'll be back in May 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿” “

Food Security at Risk The National Farmers Union Scotland says that rising energy costs and a rise in imports are putting Scottish and UK food security at risk. Domestic production accounted for only 60% in 2025 (compared with 65% in 2024) while the value of imported food, drink and animal feed rose by nearly 5% to £67.8bn in the same period. Labour shortages are a factor, as are volatile markets and the sky-high price of red diesel, while animal welfare, environmental and traceability standards also disadvantage domestic providers against importers. The union wants emergency support from the UK government, especially on energy costs, plus extensive in-person audits of imported produce from medium and high-risk countries including Brazil and Ukraine, and a review of labelling rules. The average farm made only an average of £500 profit a year from agriculture alone, with most profit coming from support payments and diversified activities . “ isp.scot/october-24th-octobe…

A country with Scotland's land, seas and energy shouldn't be losing ground on feeding itself. Food security ought to be a basic job of government.

Best of luck tomorrow! #VoteTilYouBoke
Post from our argyll & Bute by election candidate @Fionanel on @facebook Tomorrow, Thursday 29 October, you choose Mid Argyll’s next councillor 🗳️ Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm. Please take 10 minutes to vote. It’s your area and your say. Here’s how it works. You rank candidates in the order you prefer: 1️⃣ Put a 1 next to your first choice 2️⃣ Put a 2 next to your second choice 3️⃣ Carry on numbering as many as you like Your second and third choices really do count. If your first choice is out of the running, your vote moves to your next preference, so none of it is wasted. You don’t have to pick only one. I’ve lived in Inveraray for over 40 years and I’d be honoured to have your vote, whether as your 1, your 2 or your 3. I’ll work for open decisions and be a strong local voice for Mid Argyll. 📮 Still holding a postal vote? Get it handed in by 10pm tomorrow. Check your pack for where to drop it. 🙏 Thank you to everyone who has stopped me at the door, answered the survey and shared a cuppa and a chat over these weeks. #midargyll #LocalElections #inveraray #lochgilphead #ardrishaig ISP - Independence for Scotland Party Fiona Nelson Fiona Nelson, Independence for Scotland Party, Mid Argyll (Ward 3) Promoted by Independence For Scotland Party, on behalf of Fiona Nelson, both c/o 22 Monteith Gardens, Glasgow, G67 8NU.

This is correct. I built a whole site around it. Canny tell them though. It was party before country for the SNP. The OP is right. We need a change away from the new Scottish version of the establishment. bothvotesindy.scot/how-dhond…

This bit didn't play out at the last election. If all SNP support gave their seconmd vote to @IndyScotParty or @The_SSP_ etc we wouldn't have Reform sitting in parliament and those 17 seats would be Indy supporting MSPs.

Wouldn't have cost them a penny if they hadn't chosen to break the law in the first place 🤨
“ Edinburgh Single-Sex Spaces ‘will cost council £23.5 million’ Edinburgh City Council has reluctantly met to consider plans to amend their facilities in order to comply with the Supreme Court ruling on single sex spaces. By their calculations it will cost £23.5 million over 10 years, which includes £192,000 a year for a project team, plus work over 600 buildings on 286 sites, updated signage, adaptation of facilities and accessibility upgrades. But the council is still decidedly lukewarm, citing what they claim are a number of legal challenges in progress against the EHRC guidance (good luck with that), not wanting to incur expense which may prove not to be necessary, and are keen to ensure everyone is treated fairly and equally (apart from women insisting on their legal rights). The council eventually consulted with gender-critical women’s groups but only after those groups had had to protest against their initial exclusion from consultation. Might have been better if the council had consulted a lawyer first on the actual law, instead of taking advice from trans activists which proved to be wrong. Maybe those who advised Edinburgh can pay the £23.5 million for them? “ isp.scot/october-17th-octobe…
