In a school-leader survey, over 60% reported reduced provision and over a third dropped subjects. Maths and technical shortages narrow pupils' choices. We back rigorous academics and vocational routes to well-paid careers.

Scotland's social workers say they are being forced to ration care by what is available, not by what people actually need. In a Scotland-wide stocktake, more than half said needs should be assessed independently of resources, with any shortfall recorded as unmet need.
Our 2026 manifesto backs proper investment in social care and home care, and Congress 2026's natural-capital fund is meant for lasting public services, not another round of rationing by stealth.

Scottish Borders Council has agreed in principle to open the region's first Gaelic Medium Primary class in Tweeddale from August 2027, if staff can be recruited and the Scottish Government confirms at least 75% ongoing funding.
Eighteen families (24 children) have already shown interest. Immersion teaching would run from P1 to P3, with English introduced from P4.
Gaelic and Scots are central to who we are. Sovereignty's published programme has long called for promoting both languages.
A Borders provision that meets demand from local families is a welcome step, and it needs the staff and funding to make it real.

Food parcels are no substitute for a reliable household income. Scotland needs to put money in households’ hands and reduce the poverty traps that leave families struggling to afford food, heating and housing.

When a ferry fault leaves Uist and Barra patients struggling to reach hospital appointments in Stornoway, CalMac is putting MV Hebrides on temporary Lochmaddy-Tarbert sailings just so people can get to NHS care.
A Scottish fund built from the rents of our seas and seabed should renew the ageing fleet and protect lasting public services, including the crossings that keep island communities alive.
