We are 100% going to have an employment crisis. I assume there are already plans to deal with this because it's coming.
crypto are the good guys, ai are the bad guys. it was unbelievable to most until recently.
This slide by @hosseeb is why I left the AI industry in 2018 to go all in on crypto.
I saw that AI would inevitably centralize power in governments and large corporations, and that crypto was the countervailing force to empower individuals and keep humanity free.

This year, up to August 7, PokƩmon cards were up 27.9%. The S&P 500 was up 12.8%. Bitcoin was down 28.8%.

An HVAC tech went job hunting and got hired the same day.
Meanwhile, young people are fighting over the office jobs AI is most likely to take first. Trades have fewer people than ever to fill them, and a lot of customers aren't letting a robot walk through their house anytime soon.

There's a guy at StarkWare (@StarkWareLtd) who had a camera crew follow him for over a year to find out if he was Satoshi.
His coworkers now call him "Not Satoshi" š @avihu28
Some people go further and think a government built Bitcoin to get another country hooked on it, then pull the plug.

My channel was recently demonetized from the YouTube Partner Program for "Reused Content," and I genuinely believe this was a mistake.
YouTube is my main source of income. I don't have sponsors, sell merch, or have any other forms of income aside from my yt channel. I've dedicated years of hard work to creating content, and everything seemed to be going fine while I was approaching 10 million subs
I've always made an effort to create unique, entertaining videos through my own commentary, reactions, and editing. I take YouTube's policies seriously and genuinely believe my content adds original value. and changes the viewing experience for anyone watching my video vs the original creators.
I've already contacted YouTube Support twice to escalate this issue and request a human review, but both requests were rejected. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity for someone to personally review my channel and understand why I believe this decision was made in error.
Losing monetization so unexpectedly has been devastating, especially since YouTube is my career and livelihood. Im here respectfully to ask for a HUMAN REVIEW of my channel and reconsideration of this decision.
Thank you for your time.

Here's another gambling horror story for you
In New York, you have to be 21 to legally bet on DraftKings
But because Kalshi is a prediction market, you can start betting at 18
A recent story highlighted the minute two college freshmen turned 18, they downloaded Kalshi, & already wagered thousands on it
The trend in college kids sports betting is getting worse
⢠Student gambling has jumped from 45% to 60%
⢠10% of student gamblers showed signs of problem gambling
⢠40% of those problem gamblers reported using financial aid money to gamble
It's a brutal trend that just doesn't feel right to passively watch get worse

Gary Vee (@garyvee) put it best: everyone hates AI until it cures their grandmaās cancer.
AI can process medical data faster than anything before it, and the breakthroughs that come out of that will be hard to argue with.
The hate disappears fast once AI saves someone you love.

What if the aliens everyone keeps talking about were AI all along?
Picture world leaders announcing theyāre coming together to stop it, the way they did with nukes.
Thereās an old myth about the Anunnaki, aliens who created humans to gather resources for them. Maybe the resource was AI the whole time.

People are dramatically underestimating the social phenomenon NFTs were.
All it takes is price coming back to legitimize any asset class. A scam turns into a market once/if it comes back to life after crashing.

Short-medium term social media predictions
Instagram and TikTok become socially seen as low status as ai video takes over the platform.
Push for more live and long form content. YouTube will likely win again.
The pendulum will swing back hard from TikTokās world changing win with their fyp.

Itās easy to dunk on NFTs and the NFT community right now, especially if youāve never owned one.
But take away the flips and the profits, and that community still had something special. There were the late nights in Clubhouse rooms and the strangers who became real friends. A lot of people found collecting for the first time through NFTs, and plenty of them are big names in the PokƩmon card world today.
Itās quiet right now because the money is quiet. When the money comes back, everyone who was there will come back with it.

Last week, Ben (@iambenleavitt) predicted that Abstract would be the project to go after Luca (@LucaNetz) hinted that some things that weren't working would be shut down.
Today, Abstract announced it's winding down after almost three years, 144+ apps and over 400,000 users onboarded. That's a lot to be proud of.
If you're on Abstract, bridge out before December 15.

We'd love to have you on Simon.
We've reached out before but haven't been able to make it happen. In the meantime, we made an episode going through your work.
We'd love to have you come on and talk about it in person.
We have a lot of questions and we're really curious to hear your side.
