I’ve read everything he has penned, from The Trotter-Nama on. No two books are alike

Everyman’s Library really does put out some nice looking books. Arrived today, Cormac McCarthy’s “Border Trilogy” in an omnibus format—All the Pretty Horses, The Crossing and Cities of the Plain. A great jacket, hardcover and a place ribbon, with nice red cloth covered boards.

In these two stories by @IbtisamAzem, things are not quite as they seem. Translated by Mayada Ibrahim, this fiction is simultaneously disconcerting and grounding — unfolding in medias res, with scenes and imagery that linger long in the reader's mind.

Congratulations to the shortlist of the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation!
The shortlist features work by several Asymptote contributors, both translators and writers--for one of these works that's the same person!
