Britain can build. Britain must build. We're building a new city. Sign the pledge to build the city of your dreams.
Announcing plans for the first British city in 50 years in front of 1500 people at the O2 in Greenwich. Amazing. Sign the pledge.

The only two reasons not to build new cities are: - cowardice - selfishness

If we didn’t spend billions on random shit for boomers then, we’d have trillions to spend on random shit for boomers now.
‘We'd have a British sovereign wealth fund now that will be worth probably a trillion pounds’ Chancellor @JohnHealey_MP suggests what Britain could have gained if it had set up an energy wealth fund like Norway’s back in the 1980s #Peston

The British education system is institutionalised ludditism.
Young people actively hate AI. My two younger daughters are 19 and 18, both at universities - one in the UK the other in Italy. Through them, I happen to know quite a few kids their age. And ALL OF THEM seem to universally hate AI. To them it's "something old people invented that we now have to deal with... as if climate change wasnt enough" AI is cringe. When they introduce me to their friends, they literally say "heyya, meet my dad, he's a software engineer but nonono, NOT IN AI, dont worry, hahah". They hate it for flooding their social feeds with slop, ruining music, taking phone scams to the next level, also destroying careers & devaluing their hobbies - why become an architect, this skill is about to become worthless? Why learn a musical instrument if session musicians are already obsolete? The outcome is interesting, though - they're spending less and less time on public social, meeting up IRL, moving their online lives into private group chats with actual verified friends. TikTok and Reels are increasingly cringe-something for old dudes. Which, I guess, might be a net positive after all...

MicroAGI are cooking some incredibly cool things up. There will be humanoid robots among us sooner than you think.
Frontier LLMs are like the stereotype of a genius who struggles to change a lightbulb or the oil in their car. They have great visual and spatial reasoning but they struggle to control a robot body and get it to perform simple tasks. We used tens of thousands of hours of videos to train a specialised model that’s a great handyman, not a math professor

Who here would come to a comedy tech talks event? 5 min talks about some technical thing with the caveat that they should be funny as well as entertaining.

Can’t wait for 50 years time when all the Americans are like “remember how WE saved Europe and won the war against Russia”

I love it when people Grok-shot themselves.
You would expect that from 27 countries vs one country. How much of Europes contribution has been given since January 2025?

As a natural Elon fan, my change in opinion of him has been a weird experience. But it's quite difficult to explain just how deep my distain for MAGA runs.
And so the slaughter continues … Time for Zelensky to go

So are games (and other software) going to get bigger or smaller now?

I have calculated how long it would take the triple lock on state pensions to consume all energy available in the UK, and then the Earth, and the solar system and beyond. Is this the solution to the Fermi paradox? I also show how the British planning system may be the universes only respite from this all consuming behemoth... Read here: planetocracy.org/p/the-briti…

AI alignment is just making sure bad people can't access the good models.
Anthropic may start banning people for bullying Claude Their upcoming Usage Policy prohibits “sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior toward our models”

I’m 100% sure the future will be better than the past. The problem: over the last year, my timelines have extended. It used to be “within the next 10 years” Now it’s: “within the next 100 years” What do I do with this information?

“I am anti-fascist!” I shout, as I burn down a school and half of Paris.
Revolt is spreading in France and antiracism is at its core. Students at Henri IV School in Paris sing "We are all antifascists".
