Don't talk about competency please.
What a terribly poor situation. And it happens because of lack of actual meritocracy in India.
What is eMudhra business model? Regulatory capture. What is their competency? Being in cahoots with the govt.
All govt organisations and PSU banks use them and they are one of the “recognised” authorities to digitally sign documents and all that - why? Because they had “contacts” in government to get into this position
No private company actually use them of course because the experience of using them is dogshit and no one competent enough trusts them.
But after getting such large PSU banks and orgs in India on board they went to other South Asian and Middle Eastern countries and got them onboard as well. And as of last week before the certificates were breached many popular financial institutions were using them.
Like if someone brute forced their certificates; within first 256 attempts all 8 intermediate certificates would be gotten.
Till now only reason they were not; was because no one thought it would be useful to brute force 2^384 combinations. Basically they never locked the door and no one actually tried to push it open all these years.
This tender would have costed lakhs.
The footpath near my society at Koramangala has been broken since years!
I complained to BBMP, sent email to GBA, raised ticket and chatted with their WA helpline but got no response.
Finally, decided to fix it myself.
It costed me Rs. 2700 including labor charges and the cement to build a ramp.
Parents with stroller and senior citizens on wheelchair can use it conveniently now.
More then @bunjavascript this is about @ziglang .
And its dead.
This.
Everyone says that all they have is a money printer, my counter is where is your printer?
Japan was poised to take over from US. Then the population decline hit it.
Soviet Union was an equivalent in influence, it disintegrated
China was a certainty. It had the momentum of Japan and was trying to get the influence to match USSR. It has stalled
As much as I don’t like few things about America, it would be a lie if I don’t say that I am in awe of its ability to adapt.
Military wise, tech wise, AI wise, and the sheer ability to let businesses think big. There is literally only 1 country where a lower middle class man can dream of becoming a multi millionaire and actually achieve it without closeness to any influential person
Even with stupid politicians and some crazy ass population, it just keeps moving.

Literally me last week
i have lost meaning. nothing feels difficult anymore.
earlier, there was so much joy in writing code by hand - finding problems, staying awake for hours just to solve that one silly bug buried deep in the code.
coding gave me a lot of joy, but with agentic coding, writing code by hand no longer makes sense - not because i want it that way, but because of the pressure from everyone around you. why struggle for hours when you can finish everything at 100 toks/sec?
it has left a dent in that joy i once carried. i wish i could go back to writing pure code with my own hands - no agentic coding at all - but there is no time for that. features need to be shipped quickly, and if you don't keep up, you get crushed by others who do.
some might say, "you still have to read the code and figure out if it's correct." that's true, but reviewing something is very different from actually writing it. the neurons fire differently for both - and they fire far more when your fingers are hitting those keys on the keyboard.
maybe the craft isn't dead, but it is slowly being asked to wait in the corner - and for those of us who fell in love with the process, not just the output, that silence is louder than any compiler error ever was.
Another great product getting eaten by @salesforce
Heroku is transitioning to a sustaining engineering model focused on stability, security, reliability, and support. Heroku remains an actively supported, production-ready platform, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and operational excellence rather than introducing new features. We know changes like this can raise questions, and we want to be clear about what this means for customers.
There is no change for customers using Heroku today. Customers who pay via credit card in the Heroku dashboard—both existing and new—can continue to use Heroku with no changes to pricing, billing, service, or day-to-day usage. Core platform functionality, including applications, pipelines, teams, and add-ons, is unaffected, and customers can continue to rely on Heroku for their production, business-critical workloads.
Enterprise Account contracts will no longer be offered to new customers. Existing Enterprise subscriptions and support contracts will continue to be fully honored and may renew as usual.
Why this change
We’re focusing our product and engineering investments on areas where we can deliver the greatest long-term customer value, including helping organizations build and deploy enterprise-grade AI in a secure and trusted way.
First time supporting Punjab in their demand.
Make Gurugram capital of Haryana, only then fags at @MunCorpGurugram & @OfficialGMDA will have some shame.
Video of Lat One v0.1 test flight.
uSTOL achieved. Achievement unlocked 🛫
The plane crashed a bit later, which we knew was going to happen, and our simulations had already suggested so, due to structural defects. However, the main objective of the test flight was to test uSTOL, which was successfully demonstrated.
We are already building Lat One v0.2, which should hopefully complete a mission. Making a plane take off is only 20% of the problem. Making it land safely is where the work lies.
Overall, we learnt so much from this entire experience. We will come out better and stronger from this.

40k microservices ?????
Is @NetflixEng real?
At @Netflix, scale drives everything.
Their logging system ingests 5 PB/day, averaging 10M+ events/sec across 40K+ microservices to serve 300M+ subscribers.
See how they did it with some key optimizations in fingerprinting, serialization, and queries.
It hurts but I like how you just ommited @Olacabs , they just themselves went on a self destruction spree.
App went downhill (it freaking heats up my phone cuz of memory leaks most likely), from #1 to #3 now in market.
All cuz of directionless CEO.
@bhash just shut it down man
