This is my 3rd year paying for π Premium annually and if I'm being honest...
Seeing how poorly behaved all the monetized accounts are over the latest payout changes to incentivize *original content* has really soured my enthusiasm for renewing at the end of this subscription.
Really not excited about my money going into the pockets of people who run aggregate, repost, slop accounts and have blatant disregard for intellectual property rights.
I've never been paid a cent on this platform, but I'm a full-time creator over on YouTube where we're held to actual standards.
95% of the videos I see posted here would never be eligible for YouTube monetization.
Most are straight up copyright infringement.
Y'all have no idea how lax the requirements here really are - it's obviously encouraged some of the worst "creators" to exploit the system.
Being verified with the blue check isn't enough of a benefit, nor do I use Grok that frequently or need π for networking purposes.
So I can't think of a good reason to keep paying and probably won't...
Instagram and TikTok will NOT STOP pushing political content onto my feeds, despite me *never* consuming or seeking it out π€·π»ββοΈ

Started a Facebook group for watches in 2018. Now it's 23 groups and 600k people buying and selling watches, cars and gold.
Never paid for one ad. Turns out not scamming people is a pretty good marketing plan haha
I'm cool with arresting nuisance streamers + content creators harassing random people in public for clicks.
Throw these f*ckers in jail for a couple months idc.
More businesses should be prohibiting this type of conduct to protect their customers.

Woke up in the mood for some @redbaronpizza π
Funny how some of the people spouting the worst takes on YouTube, social media + content creation already work within the industry.
Almost like they're pulling up the ladder behind them or trying to dissuade future competitors from entering the space π€
Probably nothing... π€·π»ββοΈ
Wild to me it's 2026 and folks still don't see content creation and building an online following as a "real" skill.
You have to be a media company first no matter what you do or sell.
This is NOT optional.
Even if you're successful now - imagine what the landscape will be like in 10 years when you've done nothing, but your main competitors hustled online...

Whoever is leaving mean comments on your content most likely has no idea who you are.
The biggest thing that you need to realize is they donβt know you. People criticize me all the time but they have no idea who I am or what I do. They read one quote or look at one clip, out of context, and they think they know me. Iβm not too big on constructive criticism when it comes from people who have no idea what theyβre talking about. Judge the judger whoβs judging you. So, when I talk about judging, I take the full context of the feedback or advice that I'm being given. I think one of the things that many people struggle with is they're not good at understanding the intent or agenda of the person giving them feedback. So, the first thing I think about is not their experience. Just because you've built a $150 million business doesn't mean that when you're giving me advice, it isn't coming from the framework of you trying to lower the price of the valuation so you can invest in it. You have to know the person's intent.
Just had our HVAC unit checked & serviced before winter sets in.

Underrated hack for content creators... πββοΈ
Do whatever you can to improve your speech & diction.
It makes a HUGE difference to viewers listening to a pleasant voice that's easy to understand.
Just now I clicked on a tutorial video and the host's voice is genuinely terrible and off putting to the point where it's difficult to concentrate on what she's saying.
I would even say this is just as (if not more) important as a video's visuals.
This is something I've done myself and it's absolutely helped me grow on YouTube + other social media platforms.
In fact, I frequently receive positive comments about my voice.
Impromptu speaking is an incredibly powerful skill.
