One formula fits all of it:
Republican 2026 = 0.85 × Trump 2024
Democrat 2026 = Harris 2024 + 0.15 × Trump 2024
For every 1,000 Trump points, 850 stayed Republican. 150 landed on the Democratic side.
The numbers:
Senate: Republicans kept ~85% of Trump’s share
Governor: ~86%
Variation explained: 88%
What makes it strange:
It didn’t matter how red the state was. Wyoming, Ohio, Illinois, Massachusetts: same 15% (p = 0.69). The Democratic gain was sized by Trump’s vote, not Harris’s. The Harris part is zero.
The 0.85 beat both standard election-swing models in every set of races.
Drop any single state and the multiplier stays between 0.846 and 0.853.
Why seats flipped:
At 0.85, any state where Trump got under about 58.5% falls below 50%. Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, South Carolina, North Carolina: all under that line. All flipped.
What this means:
Midterms are messy. This one isn’t. Two sets of races, different candidates, different campaigns, and the same 15% decrease almost everywhere.
A pattern this even demands answers at the ballot level: paper ballot hand counts, poll-book check-ins against votes counted, and voter files showing who actually turned out.
The numbers raise the question.
The ballots can answer it.

Fellow Patriots, today is a day I will remember for the rest of my life. Today, my beautiful wife, Karla Reyes, officially became a United States citizen! 🇺🇸
My wife was born and raised in Venezuela, a country where so many have suffered under a government that has failed to respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of its people. She understands just how precious freedom truly is.
Today, I had the incredible honor of watching her raise her right hand and swear an oath of allegiance to the United States of America. An oath to support and defend the Constitution and the laws of this great nation. The very Constitution that I have dedicated so much of my life to defending, exercising, and educating others about.
I cannot begin to describe what that moment meant to me.
Those of you who follow my journey know how deeply I believe in the principles this country was founded upon. Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, due process, equal protection under the law, and the fundamental belief that our government derives its power from WE THE PEOPLE.
Today, my wife made a solemn commitment to those same principles, and I couldn’t be prouder.
I am proud of her strength, her perseverance, her sacrifices, and everything she has overcome. Proud of the incredible mother she is to our children and the woman I am blessed to call my wife.
Our children will grow up knowing that American citizenship is more than a passport or a piece of paper. It comes with rights, responsibilities, and a duty to protect the freedoms that generations before us fought to secure.
I love this country. I believe in what America is supposed to represent. And while I will never stop holding our government accountable when it fails to uphold our constitutional rights, today reminds me exactly why that fight is so important.
America is not great because of its government. America is great because of its people, its Constitution, and the ideals of liberty and justice that we must never take for granted.
To my beautiful wife, Karla, I love you more than words can express. I am so incredibly proud of you.
