I really need the folk at Laika to get a good ass screenwriter in their midst because i cannot believe i just watched the most captivating, tactile and inmersive piece of stop motion animation, a testament to what the medium can achieve, with the most 5.5/10 script possible.

My jaw was on the floor for the entire second half of WILDWOOD. A towering achievement of truly epic fantasy with levels of scale and sincerity I haven't seen in years. I can't think of a stop-motion movie since The Wrong Trousers where the action sequences were this phenomenal.

this is shown within the first few minutes of the movie, and the message completely stuck with me until the credits rolled. the entire movie is such a breathtaking piece of handmade craftwork, and we’re so lucky to still be able to see shit like this get made.

"Wildwood" took nearly 15 years to make, with 231 puppets and 136 sets, making it the longest stop motion film ever made.
