When the 40% tax band was created, it was meant for the top 3.5% of earners - bank directors and senior executives. Now it’s 22% of taxpayers 😳

🇬🇧 The OBR just dropped 200 pages on Healey's first Budget. I read it so you don't have to. Tax is at a record 37.9% of GDP by 2027-28, past the old high of 37.2%. Then it climbs every single year to 38.6%. Frozen thresholds are doing way too much to workers since they get a pay rise, hand more of it over. 1.8x the national minimum wage now classes you as a higher tax rate payer - what the fuck? Borrowing @ £133bn this year. In March they said £115bn. Seven months later it's £18bn worse. And it's higher than March in every year of the forecast because neither the OBR nor treasury has a clue what they’re doing. Debt interest at £39bn in 2019-20. £109bn last year 😩 £160bn by 2031-32 😩😩£15bn of this year's bill is extra bc inflation's pushing up index linked gilts, and we know the uk has a structural inflation problem, partly due to the relationship between treasury and BoE. Headroom is £14.5bn, down from £21.7bn at the last Budget. Keep the fuel duty freeze going and it's £10.2bn. The OBR gives Healey a 56% chance of hitting his OWN FUCKING rule. Debt will peak at 97.3% of GDP, still 95.6% in 2031-32. Five years and it barely moves which is completely against his fiscal demands. How it affects you? Growth 1% next year with gdp per capita basically the same as it has been since 2019 Inflation 3.4% when March said 2%. Zero real pay growth in 2027. Living standards in 2030-31? Just 2% above pre-pandemic. But don't worry. You're getting a £100 council tax rebate. Jesus Christ.

Being glamorous on the outside doesn’t make you a good partner, it makes you a trophy than can be replaced. For people to say she doesn’t look glamorous enough is on them, not her.
I’m really saddened to read the vile comments about Harry Kane’s wife. She’s not ‘a tub of lard’ by any stretch of the imagination. She’s a beautiful woman who is loved and respected by her husband and children. Some people are just utterly vile

Normally you can pick a Walt but if he didn’t this is utterly vile! Because of the trust and loyalty we have with each other we share experiences with each other that would be unfathomable.
A Reform member in Portsmouth who served with distinction as a Royal Marine in Afghanistan and Iraq was told by an ITV undercover reporter that they shared the same military background. That was a lie. The Marine, believing him, took him for a drink. They spent hours talking about their 'shared' service. He shared deeply personal stories from the front line. He thought he was talking to a friend who had been through the same things. He has since learned that the man across the table was an actor with a hidden camera, sent by a television company to damage the party he volunteers for. He said he feels VIOLATED. A man who put his life on the line for this country had his most private memories extracted by deception for a TV programme. This just shows you how SCUMMY the mainstream media are.

It’s funny in relationships how when you stop providing, you’re very quickly no longer needed and any excuse will do…

The government can’t seem to put their finger on why people are saying they wouldn’t fight for the country 🤔
I’m old enough to know what happened when the IRA a terrorist organisation who targeted innocent shoppers & school children regularly bombed London & Manchester. Yet they’ve received a pardon whilst we criminalise, & hunt our own soldiers, & we wonder why no one wants to fight for our country!

So you get 2 years prison if you throw an empty plastic bottle but nothing for stabbing someone with a broken bottle 🤔
A Turkish migrant AVOIDED jail after stabbing a man with a broken bottle in Bournemouth. Halil Dal - who required a taxpayer-funded translator during his trial - received a suspended sentence. Meanwhile, Danny Tommo is inside for puncturing a dinghy. 🇬🇧
