One of the best stories you probably haven’t heard much about continues to get better.
Last week I tweeted about Mark Lawrence Jr, who had battled injuries for years. In fact was out of golf for almost 2 full years. Had multiple surgeries.
In Knoxville he got thru an 8 for 3 Monday Q playoff. It was his second ever KFT event. He made the cut then shot 66-67 on the weekend to finish T17 and earn a spot in the next event.
Last week again he played well and finished T16, earning a spot in this weeks event.
Although he made the cut it didn’t look good to make the top 25 after an even-par 71 in round three.
Except early today he shot 65 and then had a LOONNNGGG wait to see if it was good enough.
He is going to finish T24. Good enough for a spot in the next event.
Out of golf, surgeries, working odd jobs, an 8 for 3 playoff.
Unreal.

Awesome story developing at the @KornFerryTour event in NC.
Mark Lawerence Jr played in the Monday Q last week in TN. Birdied three of the last four holes to get into a 8 for 3 playoff.
Got thru that. Made the cut, his first KFT cut. Then shot 66-67 on the weekend to finish T17 and get a spot in this weeks event.
He has battled injuries since his graduation from VT in 2021. Has had multiple surgeries to correct it and finally feeling healthy. Was unable to swing for months at a time. Worked odd jobs to make ends meet.
He opened with a 65 this week and was playing ok in the second round when it was suspended for weather last night. He had a few holes to play.
On his 18th he drove the green on the 306 yard par-4 and made the putt for eagle.
He’s now T3 heading into the 3rd round.
That’s what Mondays are all about.

Joe Rogan: “It doesn't make sense to be on a team.”
“I don't consider myself a Republican. I don't consider myself a Democrat either. I consider myself an American.”
“There's a lot of things that the Democrats believe that I believe too. There's a lot of things that they say that makes a lot of sense to me.”
“There's a lot of things that the Republicans say that makes a lot of sense to me too.”
“The idea that I have to ignore things that make sense to me because it's coming from the wrong team is just stupid.”

This hit was malicious and has no place in our game…
But the NFL needs to get the “weaponized quarterback slide” out of the game.
As dangerous as hits on a quarterback are when the quarterback chooses to slide, we need to stop allowing quarterbacks to fake slide or late slide in order to gain yardage and confuse the defenders on if the quarterback is sliding or not.
It would go a long way towards taking those terrible hits out of the game and making things more safe for the quarterback and for the defender.
A late slide, fake slide, or acting like you’re gonna go out of bounds and then skirting forward for a few more yards; these all need to be 15 yard penalties against the offense.
And it’s about time the NFL referees started marking the ball down immediately when the quarterback starts to slide… Which is the rule by the way!
If this happens, the big hits on quarterbacks when they’re sliding will be completely eliminated from the game. That’s what we all want right?

Why pro golf needs to give penalties for slow play:
According to a source Carlota Ciganda, one of the slowest players on the LPGA was warned multiple times today, and then fined after the round for slow play.
She is currently 63rd in points. Top 60 make next weeks event, but because she knows she wont get penalized she doesnt change her routine.
The $4,000 is well worth it because if she gets into top 60 its worth a chance at her part of the $11 Million - no-cut event next week.
If they penalized her, I promised she would speed up.

NASCAR looks very biased toward Chevrolet in this entire process.
You can’t penalize one side and not penalize the other. Whether it’s 3 drivers in the championship or Kyle Larson added, I’m not sure how Chevrolet’s race manipulation is ignored.
Something needs to be done.

I'm waiting to make the race review until NASCAR make a decision.
In my opinion both the 20 and 24 should be DQ'd from the playoffs but after that, I don't know.
This is a mess that NASCAR created with the system they are too STUBBORN to change from.

That entire finish was fraudulent.
@BubbaWallace purposely dropped back for the 20.
The 20 then attempted the "hail melon."
Meanwhile, the 1 & 3 blocked the entire track for the 24.
This Playoff format is a joke.
Wow.
