I’ve detached my heart from so many things I once desperately wanted. I’ve had to let go of people, dreams, expectations and versions of my life I genuinely thought would become my reality. I’ve grieved futures that never happened, relationships that never became what I hoped and opportunities I thought I’d have. I’ve had to make peace with things I never wanted to lose and accept that some chapters will never unfold the way I imagined. There’s a particular kind of sadness in mourning a life you never got to live, because there’s no real goodbye, no closure, just the quiet realisation that things could have been so different. I think I’ve spent so much time learning how to let go of what I wanted that sometimes I forget what it feels like to look forward to something without being afraid of losing it.

i don't think people understand how exhausting it is to always be the person who understands, forgives, and makes room for everybody else
I’m too forgiving and that’s why I always get fucked over in the end, I gotta stop forgiving people. Well forgive them and let that stay where they had me fucked up at 😂
Yes, and someone who listens to understand not to respond. Someone who takes accountability and don’t try to make me feel bad for feeling a way even if they feel like it’s not “ that deep” or don’t agree with my feelings.

The highest form of peace is having no desire to be seen, validated, or understood by anyone.
