I haven't shut up about this since I read this study:
The gap between housing costs and wage growth is actually WAY larger in fast-growing rural areas than in cities. 👀👀 And is has been since the pandemic.
This @thirdwaytweets data shows that the gap between home costs and wage growth is nearly 44% in fast-growing rural areas (places that remote urban workers moved to during/after the pandemic). That's almost 10% higher than in urban areas.

In today's @washingtonpost: Rare risk for strong tornadoes covers the Mid-Atlantic.
Important context from @MatthewCappucci: A higher-end outcome isn’t a lock because of uncertain storm behavior.
A good day to have notifications ON from @capitalweather!

UPDATE on how the electricity shortage in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region is affecting water levels for some homes across Duhok.
War is more than missiles and drones. On the ground, it can show up in quieter ways. In things like empty water tanks.

DISPATCH from Iraq's Kurdistan Region — Even when air defenses work, the danger doesn’t just disappear. Debris falls fast, it can cover a wide area and it can do heavy damage.

Many loud blasts coming from the Erbil International Airport. Streets in Ankawa clearing of people. Walked into a home of people standing close together and crying. People getting in cars and driving away from the smoke.
