Oh brother
You know I’ll admit it would actually be funny if these people got their wish and my child was confiscated by CPS and you could see him terrified and hysterical and his life was ruined and so was mine and I withered away from lawfare and heartbreak over some bullshit one-sided Twitter beef by single childless middle-aged posters with inflamed gut biomes who don’t understand the sanctity or gravity of the one small life you’re given because the hole they dug for themselves is so deep they have to retreat to social justice abstractions in order to live
I mean the votes count the same regardless if how the voter arrived there, but I think a lot of Nithya’s ability to peel off voters was only possible because Bass presided over like four catastrophes that she fumbled each time.
I think trying to describe optimism as voting for Barack Obama knowing what happened afterwards is maybe the most depressing thing I’ve ever heard lol
AOC: A note for Gen Z. If you want to understand millennial cringe, what you all call millennial cringe, this earnestness, imagine all the seats we flipped last night. That feeling, plus, on top of it, electing the first Black president ever. And on top of that, you did it the first time you ever voted. That hits generationally. You’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.
And because you did it the first time you ever voted, you’re like, ‘Yeah, we can change the world. Why not? We did it the first time. Let’s just do it again.’
She won’t, but if Nithya wants to get anything done she’s going to have to go scorched earth and clean house. Karen Bass would have been vindictive.
