Fuse’s Lead Concept Artist, James Lewis-Vines, on the unique process of ageing Sebulba:
“We’re catching up with Sebulba many years after his race at the Boonta Eve Classic in 32 BBY, and his successful racing career is clear from is affluent garments and jewellery. After years of renown, it makes sense that he would have an aged rockstar look. We eventually decided on a beard in concept, taking references from the ‘Martial Arts Master’ trope as he mentors Shade. His golden robe was inspired by senators elsewhere in the STAR WARS™ galaxy, adding a touch of grandeur to his appearances in the paddock.”

Fuse’s Lead Concept Artist, James Lewis-Vines on the process of realising our hero and protagonist, Shade:
“For Shade, we added a prominent visor which is commonly seen in motorcross helmets. Not only did this fit Shade’s racer aesthetic, but also appealed to the characters core archetype: the mysterious stranger. All of Shade’s outfit variants take inspiration from branches of real world vehicular racing culture, as well as historical references from Roman charioteers who would sport coloured capes and headbands to identify and rally support from spectators. This felt particularly fitting for Shade, who is trying to get recognition as an unknown underdog of the Galactic League.”

Fuse's Lead Concept Artist, James Lewis-Vines, talks about the creative iteration process for Kestar Bool, our titular antagonist:
“Kestar is all about opulence and status. It was important to convey that through his attire, which was inspired by an interplay of modern race suits alongside the toga of a Roman Emperor to elicit a ruthless, domineering personality.”
