"It's hard to save poor early decisions with good late decisions. It's hard to write a best-selling book if you choose an unpopular topic. Certainly, things can be improved by making good decisions along the way, but the effects of poor early decisions tend to linger." J.Clear

I just backed “Newcomer, A Language Learning Game” by @NewcomerGames on Kickstarter. It’s so clear that much passion and love is being poured into this project. It’s super inspiring to see and I wish the developer loads of success. Check it out —> kickstarter.com/projects/jas…

I totally agree. I think a return to basic basic basic fundamentals needs to be the next “big thing”.
I gave this student a copy of Homegoing (Yaa Gyasi) on Monday. She finished it today. No front loading. No skills taught. No assessment. Just good old fashioned reading. I often wonder how we got so far away from what education should be.

Great article on Indigenous history getting more attention in public school classrooms.
Many American Indians and Alaska Natives say the dramatic increase in their numbers recorded in last year’s census supports their long-standing argument that Indigenous history should get more attention in public school classrooms. edweek.org/leadership/census…

For so many professions email is the job. For teachers it’s extra job after all the other extra jobs are done. #teachertwitter #edutwitter #edchat
1 of the toughest parts of being a teacher nowadays is email. Feeling like you planned great lessons, taught your classes well, connected with students well, handled all of your feedback/grading, are up to date on all your work, but then find dozens of emails in your inbox.😣

Yep. Basic decency needs to be enforced and lines need to be drawn. 👍🏻👍🏻
Dear Parents, Please do not talk to my teachers like you’ve lost your mind because I will quickly help you find it. Sincerely, Administration
Just keep swimming! 🐟 Many folks are saying the same thing. 2021 is hitting really hard for most, especially classroom teachers. #teachertwitter

I’ve got some good news educators… The next full moon isn’t until November 19! That means the next one is the first night of Thanksgiving break. The one after that is December 18 - winter break! That means no more full moon chaos until 2022! Woohoo! – at Keller, TX

It’s really starting to feel like a death spiral 🌀 out there. I don’t know how I’d survive if I was still in the classroom today. #teachertwitter
