If the PWHL makes the change to 24 active players and no reserves, I think they'll quickly realize they will run out of players and have to call up players who aren't ready for game action.
Only ONE team in PWHL history has completed an entire season using less than 22 skaters.
This is not the only dispute that USA and Canada has with the IIHF.
The reason the CAN/USA women are not in the NHL video game under their national teams is because they have opted out of a clause in IIHF player deals that gives the IIHF their NIL rights.
New, for @TheAthletic with @hailey_salvian: USA, Canada may be forced to wear generic jerseys when the women's world hockey championship begins next week 🔗⬇️

Every year when the Rivalry Series started we said the US had the advantage because they had more NCAA players who were in game shape. Shoe is on the other foot now as Canada has more NCAA players.
That isn’t to say we can’t read into this game, just some context.
The main problem with judging so much after the Olympics is that the Olympics are a timing thing.
When the Olympic roster was named, Nicole Gosling was nowhere near the same player she has become. Rosalie Tremblay was a raw just-turned-16 year old. Makes people look silly now.
Rosalie Tremblay looks like the real deal folks. Like she’s been on this stage her whole life rather than her first senior game.
Canada has a new 18-year old top line centre from Quebec.
Lined up and ready to go. 🇨🇦
Notre formation est fin prête. 🇨🇦

The fun thing about these clips from the Habs draft videos resurfacing is yes, they are made to make the players they picked look good upon release, but there is a real risk of them aging poorly as development happens...
It makes it more impressive.
In the first two drafts in charge of the Canadiens, Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes added: Slafkovský, Beck, Hutson, Engström, Reinbacher, Fowler, F. Xhekaj, Mittelstadt
Technically you can add Dach and Newhook to that group, too based on the draft capital.
The North American pro women's hockey season officially begins tonight. Canada and the US face off for the first of two games before Worlds which leads directly into the PWHL pre-season.
It will come fast and furious now.
Every time I see the Jacob Fowler pre-draft interview with the Canadiens, I am always amazed at not only their ability to identify the talent but the patience to trust their intel and wait to draft him in the third round.
You can say the same thing about Lane Hutson, too.
In a new poll, 15% of Americans said they believe between 1 and 5% of NCAA athletes are transgender.
14% think between it's between 6 and 25%.
Meanwhile, an NCAA spokesperson confirmed that the current number is "effectively" zero

I've been following this, and it all stems from being a secondary tenant in a building. You see it with the PWHL as well (who also had a clinching game start in the afternoon, however at 5pm, not this early)
The 'downside' of growth: not that many big arenas and they are shared
Cole Caufield knows all about the @CanadiensMTL faithful!
He talked with @EJHradek_NHL about his pride being a Canadien, scoring 50 goals and more.
The Canadiens take on the @NHLBlackhawks tonight at 8 PM ET on NHL Network.
