Today, representatives from the United States, the E3, the European Commission, Ukraine, and NATO met in Miami and held constructive discussions on potential avenues to de-escalate and conclude the war with Russia ahead of winter and advance efforts toward a durable and lasting peace.
The discussions covered a broad range of issues, including near-term measures related to winter preparedness (energy resilience, grains exports), security guarantees, as well as longer-term arrangements for Ukraine’s and Europe’s security to prevent future conflicts, and support Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and economic prosperity, including EU accession.
The exchange was productive and helped identify areas for further exploration ahead of the United States’ next engagement with Russia. Participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to continuing diplomatic efforts toward a sustainable peace that strengthens security and creates opportunities for lasting stability and prosperity.

At President Trump’s direction, United States negotiators visited both Moscow and Kyiv in order to facilitate additional dialogue to end the Russia-Ukraine War. Ahead of the trip, the Russians and Ukrainians agreed to a three-day no-shoot policy to enable these discussions to occur. Special Envoy Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and officials from the National Security Council, State Department, and Treasury Department met with both President Putin of Russia and President Zelenskyy of Ukraine in order to discuss each side’s proposals with the other. In Kyiv, the delegations were also joined by national security advisors from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France to collaborate on the path forward. Substantive progress was made, including movement on scheduling additional trilateral talks. President Trump is working hard to stop the killing and work towards a lasting and durable peace.

I say this again … Abraham Accords were the greatest breakthrough in American foreign diplomacy that brought Muslims and Jews closer, and because of the Abraham Accords, the UAE delivered more than 42% of aid into Gaza.

Today, Adm. Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, Jared Kushner, and I met with the brave sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, her strike group, and Carrier Air Wing 9 who are keeping us safe and upholding President Trump’s message of peace through strength.
We thanked the sailors and Marines, observed live flight operations, and spoke with the pilot who downed an Iranian drone that approached the carrier without clear intent.
Proud to stand with the men and women who defend our interests, deter our adversaries, and show the world what American readiness and resolve look like, on watch every day.

Today, delegations from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia agreed to exchange 314 prisoners—the first such exchange in five months.
This outcome was achieved from peace talks that have been detailed and productive. While significant work remains, steps like this demonstrate that sustained diplomatic engagement is delivering tangible results and advancing efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Discussions will continue, with additional progress anticipated in the coming weeks.
We thank the United Arab Emirates for hosting these discussions, and President Donald J. Trump for his leadership in making this agreement possible.

Today we had a very good conversation with President Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff @SEPeaceMissions and @jaredkushner. I thank them for the constructive approach, the intensive work, and the kind words and Christmas greetings to the Ukrainian people. We are truly working 24/7 to bring closer the end of this brutal Russian war against Ukraine and to ensure that all documents and steps are realistic, effective, and reliable.
We discussed certain substantive details of the ongoing work. There are good ideas that can work toward a shared outcome and the lasting peace. Real security, real recovery, and real peace are what all of us need – Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and every partner who helps us. I hope that today’s Christmas understandings and the ideas we discussed will prove useful.
During the conversation, I was joined by Rustem Umerov, Andrii Hnatov, Andrii Sybiha, Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ihor Brusylo, and Oleksandr Bevz. Our entire diplomatic team is doing their utmost. We agreed that Rustem will speak again today with Steve and Jared. We believe this is the right approach – not to lose a single day or a single opportunity that can bring the result closer. May today’s conversation become another step toward peace.

There’s a pattern in Judaism/Torah.
A pattern we don’t always want but we always need.
When G-d wanted to make David a king… He didn’t give him a crown. He gave him Goliath.
When He wanted to make Joseph a leader… He didn’t give him a palace. He sent him to prison.
When G-d wanted to elevate Moses - he didn’t give him a stage, he gave him decades in the wilderness.
When G-d wanted to make Esther a queen, (in the Purim story), he gave her a crisis and Haman.
Time and again, we see:
G-d doesn’t elevate people through ease, rather through struggle.
Because it’s not despite the challenge that we rise.
It’s through it.
That’s how the human spirit is made and rises higher.
We don’t know what the new year will bring. But we do know this:
We were not born for comfort.
We were born for meaning.
We weren’t placed in this world to hide from its problems — we were created to illuminate and solve them.
And if, this year, you find yourself walking through a wilderness… or standing before your own personal or professional Goliath… Remember: that’s not a detour from your destiny. That is your calling.
May this be the year G-d transforms our struggles into strength…
May this year bring peace and healing to all.

The accusation that people who are already very successful in business go into government to make more money is a lazy and stupid narrative. As I’ve learned, serving in government involves substantial disruption and divestiture of one’s business interests.
The real question is how lifelong “public servants” get so rich. For example, how did Nancy Pelosi become the greatest stock picker of our age? How did the former head of USAID become a deca-millionaire? Why are the zip codes surrounding Washington DC some of the most affluent in the country?
To a person, all the billionaires that I’ve met serving in government are doing it for one reason: they absolutely love the country and want to make it great again. To do that, we have to drain the Swamp and the massive government corruption that is in plain sight.
