This explanation for Trump's new Press Secretary appointment is almost certainly correct, because of the principle of Trump's Razor: the stupidest possible explanation is the most likely one.

Oh my god someone told Trump to pick DoD Spox and ex-House GOP flak Dana White as Press Secretary and he thought they meant Dana White the CEO of UFC.
Trump: “I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States. I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

I’ve said it before, but the Trump administration is a 12 year old boy’s idea of what it means to be President.

This is one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen in my life…
Stephen Miller last night: “It is the honor of my life to be president Trump’s Chief of staff and I swear to you and I pledge to you Mr. president my absolute loyalty my unwavering commitment and my total devotion to your success and success of this country.”

You’re the Attorney General of the United States, Todd, not Stephen Miller’s personal mob lawyer.
The DOJ belongs to the American people. Not Trump. Not Miller. And certainly not you.
Your inability to distinguish public service from personal servitude is worthy of impeachment.

This is a May 2025 clip. Stephen Miller said the Trump administration was actively looking at suspending habeas corpus. Reports indicate the proposal was seriously debated but White House lawyers advised it requires Congressional action. No suspension has occurred.

So…. Trump’s takeaway from the election was that the American people want MORE Stephen Miller?!

Has anyone checked in on that longhaired GOP guy from Pennsylvania who pretends to be good at voter engagement?

“Our electoral process only functions because of your neighbors who volunteer for at least 14 hours on Election Day to make sure that you can make your voice heard.”
I think the one thing that we can all agree on this morning is that the real winner last night was my election tracking spreadsheet.
For those who might be interested, I had Claude create a Google Sheet to track key election results in Pennsylvania tonight:

Claude will auto-update this w/data from county websites every 30 min, and I'll be manually updating key races in between.

The GOP has an opportunity to do some serious soul-searching. Trump has presided over two of the biggest midterm losses in history.
They could return to independent thought and actual policies, or they could keep slamming their dicks in the car door.
I’m betting on the door.
