MOUNTAIN SNOW IS COMING! Some areas could pick up more than a foot Sunday into Monday.
After a relative lull on Saturday, a strong Pacific storm will move across Utah Sunday into Monday, bringing widespread precipitation and a significant change in temperatures.
The biggest snow impacts will come Sunday night into early Monday as a strong cold front pushes through the state.
❄️ SNOW LEVELS: Initially around 9,000 feet, snow levels will drop to 6,500-7,000 feet behind the cold front. That means accumulating snow will spread to lower mountain elevations.
❄️ SNOWFALL TOTALS: Areas above 8,000 feet could see more than 12 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in areas favored by northwest flow.
❄️ WASATCH & UINTAS: Significant accumulating snow is expected, especially across the higher elevations. Mountain passes and canyon roads could become snow-covered and difficult to travel.
❄️ SOUTHERN UTAH MOUNTAINS: Another round of accumulating snow is expected as colder air works south and snow levels fall.
By Monday, temperatures will take a big tumble, running 10-15 degrees below seasonal averages. A much colder feel across the state to start the week.
One important thing: The heaviest precipitation arrives Sunday, but the best window for accumulating mountain snow will be Sunday night into Monday morning as colder air moves in.

BIG MOUNTAIN SNOW IS HEADED FOR UTAH SUNDAY INTO MONDAY! ❄️
A strong Pacific storm will move through Utah Sunday into Monday, bringing widespread valley rain and accumulating mountain snow. This system will tap into an atmospheric river, bringing plenty of moisture before colder air pushes snow levels lower.
Here’s what we’re watching:
Snow levels will start relatively high Sunday morning, around 9,500 feet, but steadily drop as colder air moves in.
* Sunday morning: 9,500 feet
* Sunday afternoon: 8,000 feet
* Sunday night: 7,000 feet
* Monday morning: 6,500 feet
Potential mountain snow totals:
* Above 6,500 feet: 0-1”
* Above 7,500 feet: 2-6”
* Above 9,000 feet: 6-12”+
The mountains could see some significant accumulations, with the potential for travel impacts late Sunday into Monday morning.
Valleys will see another round of widespread rain, and with waterways already running high from recent storms, flash flooding will remain a concern, especially across southern Utah.
