The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Namibia met on the 26th and 27th of October 2026.

Nearly 130 million people in Brazil voted last night, and within five hours, the results were clear, trusted, and done.
Now compare that to our situation in Namibia. We have fewer than 1.5 million voters nationwide, yet our elections were hit with severe shortages of ballot papers, failing voter registration systems, and polling stations extended over multiple days.
In 2024, people were left stranded in lines for hours, and some had to be shuffled around just to cast a vote.
