That PHP vulnerability that’s gonna cause havoc this week was found with… GPT‑5.6 Sol.
OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites.
Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers, and security providers to prepare fixes and protections ahead of disclosure. This duration was necessary because the fix was quite intricate and required a major change to the PHP engine. Every site using PHP can now safely upgrade their version to stay secure, in addition to applying mitigations from various security vendors.
Due to the severity of these flaws and PHP’s widespread use, we consider this bug to be one of the most impactful vulnerabilities in recent memory. It also marks a new phase, where AI can find security bugs with internet-scale impact.
This is an example of the Defender’s Window in action: to our knowledge, frontier AI was able to find this vulnerability ahead of attackers, giving defenders time to prepare.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
OpenAI may claim a role in the coordinated response and patching process. But the initial discovery and exploit development, however, occurred several months earlier by an independent researcher.

Growing up with Dyslexia was tough as hell. Passing it on to my son was even harder.
Seeing Karp talk openly about his dyslexia makes me proud to think differently.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp said only the neurodivergent will outperform in the AI era
So I connected Grok Bot to Robinhood's Agentic trading to put it to the test:
Build a portfolio of companies run by neurodivergent leaders.
It weighted the portfolio by giving every founder a "Tism score" (Grok Bot’s wording) and went live this morning with real money
The top scorers, at 10 out of 10:
- @ElonMusk ($TSLA $SPCX): said on SNL that he has Asperger's
- Alex Karp ($PLTR): talked about his dyslexia
- Yat-Gai Au ($RGC) wrote in his founder letter that he has ADHD, autism, and dyslexia
Next come three 9s:
- Ari Emanuel ($TKO): spoke on @davidsenra about his dyslexia and ADHD
- @Tobi Lütke ($SHOP): has talked about his ADHD and dyslexia
- @brian_armstrong ($COIN): has said he's “somewhere on the autism spectrum”
Others:
- Charles Schwab ($SCHW) scores an 8 for dyslexia
- Adam Foroughi ($APP) scored a 7
- Mark Zuckerberg @finkd ($META) scored a 7
- @jack Dorsey ($XYZ) scored 7
- David Neeleman ($AZUL) scored a 7

As AI forced the Bitter Lesson down everyone’s throat in 2023–24, we asked: what would the most expressive embodiment for AI look like five years ahead? What body would that brain yearn for, and what would it take to build it?
That’s the bet behind Daxo: a scalable architecture the brain can easily program.
My new essay explores that bet through an imperfect but useful analogy: “A Robot Is a Computer.”

It’s been a while. We’ve been building and rebuilding in the factory, walking actuator assembly lines, and digging all the way down to the raw materials behind physical embodiment.
In the past year, we moved the entire company twice: Philly → Austin → SF. The team, the equipment, the whole operation. Twice.
Our square footage has grown, and our technology is barely recognizable from where we started. Through every rebuild and relocation, our understanding of what matters, and what to build toward, has sharpened.
The essay grew out of that journey.

1. Listen to every episode of @FoundersPodcast
2. Find a simple idea and take it seriously.
Yesterday, I visited a friend’s workshop.
He showed me a stack of metal and said “oh man, this company, @sendcutsend, is sooo awesome.”
I asked what he liked about them.
He said “they’re super fast, consistent, and always send candy with every order.”
The speed and consistency made him happy but the candy and soon these stickers make him a fan.
it’s that time again. We need new sticker designs! Send us your best entries, no AI slop: sendcutsend.com/sticker-cont…
If we like your design you’ll win some monies

Leftism consistently produces poverty, misery, and oppression because it imposes a zero-sum frame in which individual success or advancement must necessarily be at others expense

I’m not. Will use SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the 2 rear seats.
Inspired by @mustafa01ali, I rewrote 13 Virtues from React Native to Swift while eating a burger for lunch. So much smoother.
