Finished! I just gave my PhD exit seminar. Thank you to all the friends + family who have helped me get here. I will be in Davis for a bit, but then I will be a postdoc in Vermont with the QuEST grad program. Lots of exciting things happening here! uvm.edu/quest

.@ReneeBrady_7 of @EnderlingLab and @MoffittPSOC presents a model for predicting resistance to androgen deprivation therapy in prostate ca that uses just 2 patient specific parameters and demonstrates 90.2% predictive power! #CSBCPSONJI2018

Common view of “evolution” applied to cancer is equivalent to claiming that cave fish are blind because a blind fish swam into a cave
3
Bob Gatenby @MoffittPSOC speaks on evolutionary oncology #cancerEGT. Genetic analysis of a tumor sample is like genetic analysis of all species of cave fish mixed into a single sample

Proposes a collection of cell- and tissue-specific evolutionary roadblocks that are unlikely to be overcome in the lifetime of a given case

Joel Brown @MoffittResearch @MoffittNews makes the point that evolutionary modelers either choose frequency model first (e.g. most classical game theory) or dynamic model first (e.g. adaptive dynamics) #cancerEGT
