Private equity destroys everything it touches, so why would we let it anywhere near education? @jeffbcdm reports:

My reflection on 15 years of education politics finds that schools continue to be harmed because the progressive left hasn't done the homework and taken the initiative to voice full-throated support for public schools.

When we win, the first bill I’m filing is a comprehensive anti-corruption package:
Overturn Citizens United
Ban corporate PACs and super PACs
Ban members of Congress from trading stocks
Once we defeat the most corrupt politician in America, we can defeat this corrupt system.

Really helpful new data @JoannaMLeFebvre @CenterOnBudget extends what researchers have known since the early 00’s
Most voucher users were never in public school.
These are subsidies for existing choices. And add new costs for states.
Lawmakers in other states should follow the lead of those in FL, GA, LA, MS, & SC who are reconsidering costly private #schoolvouchers as state budgets tighten. Lawmakers should reprioritize funding for public schools serving 90% of this nation's students.

A Quiet Revolution Is Improving Schools - @jeffbcdm - Progressive progressive.org/public-schoo…
For decades, education policy has emphasized top-down, heavy-handed governance and privatization schemes such as charter schools. That's changing. But reporters and pundits are ignoring that and Republicans are trying to kill the movement.
