Hey @Delta why is flight 2676 circling just south of Pittsburgh? Onboard and captain hasn’t said anything.
“Traffic in DC” according to a flight attendant. It would be nice for the captain to say something… @Delta
.@AmericanAir bad customer service: how come it would take 24 to 48 hours to deliver a delayed bag? How come one of two bags made it? You are just trying to avoid paying for the delivery. #failure

What would happen to the analytics function in a company if most of the boring stuff done today gets commoditized? It’s far more interesting than you think.

"What's driving the change in X?" is something every analyst hears too many times to count...
A metric is just the top of a hierarchy. Showing the metric by itself just creates questions. Showing the levers driving the the metric gives everyone clarity.

Whether you’re learning how to build cloud infrastructure, build machine learning models, model data or do deep statistical analysis on patterns the only thing that matters is your ability to connect what you do with organizational outcomes.

In his bestselling book “Drive” Dan Pink covers 3 elements that motivate us to pursue anything:
Autonomy: The desire to be self-directed in everything we do
Mastery: The desire to get better at something
Purpose: The desire to do something important, meaningful and impactful

Data self-serve is hard. And it always seems to be a priority. I've aggregated my research, thoughts, and first-hand experiences to discuss what good self-serve does and doesn't look like.

Replying to @AdiPolak
Establishing protocols between producers and consumers is standard, from TCP to Kafka to rest/ RPC services. Consumers will reject/ fail if the producer doesn't adhere to these standards. Why it creates a silo for the data team when applying a similar pattern? What do we miss?

The Generative AI landscape from @sequoia - a work in progress.
Lucky to have worked with a bunch of these founders. I’m excited for even more use case focus and B2B applications in the next two years.

Doing no harm requires knowing what is harmful.
AI folks should have to go through AI ethics training that includes education on not just mitigation techniques, but also the foundational components of harm.
Responsible AI starts before a single line of code is written.

24 hours ago, I tried an experiment - I tweeted a thread with 15 productivity hacks. It’s become one of my highest performing tweets of all time, with over 1 million impressions and 23,648 engagements.
The truth is - the entire thread was written by an AI.
Let me explain… 1/

This is such a simple story but it’s really at the heart of how to do analytics well. It’s impossible to get buy in from stakeholders unless the analytics we do aligns with their goals.

Years ago I was helping a friend with some data analysis for his small business.
I got some web analytics data and some purchase data and threw it in Tableau. I made some charts and was showing him what I saw.
He listened carefully and then:
“So how does this help me grow?”
