Disagree. The proposed changes are still tough and designed to incentivise integration. Standard settlement route now 10 years, with exceptions for NHS and Hong Kongers with BNO status and high earners. No routes to settlement for people with criminal convictions or a caution.

Under the Greens, Lewisham has lost a ยฃ1.5bn town centre plan.
1,700 homes, a new park, a music venue and so much more. On a site where nobody lives.
Our group leader, @Ese_Journo, warned the Mayor this would happen. He called her embarrassing.
Lewisham deserves better.

This is what you get with the Greens.
Not just vile antisemitism but actively harmful economic policies that repel investment and hasten London's decline.

BREAKING: The Labour Party has said that power-sharing agreements with the Green Party will end unless local Greens explicitly reject their party's "Zionism is racism" policy
The Labour Party has asked all Labour groups in power-sharing agreements with the Green Party to review their arrangements in local government after the prime minister's words at PMQs yesterday.
Bridget Phillipson MP, Chair of the Labour Party, said:
โThe Prime Minister has been completely clear: this policy is wrong and antisemitic, and has no place in British politics.
โWhere local Labour Parties currently have an arrangement with the Greens in local government, we expect their Green counterparts to make clear that they reject this position and to call on their national leadership to reconsider the policy.
โWe have asked local Green groups to respond as a matter of urgency. Where they are unable to provide that assurance, Labour will bring any such local arrangement to an end. This isnโt an issue of party politics; itโs about doing what is right and upholding the values anyone holding public office should share.
โThe Labour Party fought hard to address antisemitism within our own party and ensure it had no place in our politics. We have a responsibility to uphold those same standards in our relationships with other parties.โ
There was so much memorable children's television of European origin in the 1960s: Robinson Crusoe, Belle and Sebastian, White Horses and Tales from Europe, all on the BBC. Who remembers the scary Singing Ringing Tree?

Vile exhibition in a Lewisham gallery. I can't find words to describe it in a week that will see the Green Zionism = racism vote, 2 arrests and a jailing for terror plots targeting Jewish people, hounding of Jewish marchers in Cable St, and a 'pro-Gaza' protest on 7 October.
Matthew Collings has given anti-Jewish hatred a platform before โ and presented it as entertainment.
Thatโs why it beggars belief that yet another exhibition by Mr Collings, under the title โDrawings Against Genocideโ, is being hosted by a UK arts institution, given his history of recycling grotesque antisemitic tropes.
The week-long exhibition is due to take place from 30th September to 7th October at @hARTslane in New Cross, London โ a gallery operating from a building owned by Lewisham Council. hARTslane hosted Mr Collings in July as a speaker at an exhibition focused on โFree Speech in Palestineโ.
We previously flagged an exhibition of the same name by Mr Collings at Joseph Wales Studios, an independent gallery in Margate, Kent. What we found there was deeply disturbing.
Among the works were:
โข A depiction of the FrenchโIsraeli owner of Sotherbyโs auction house, with blood dripping from his mouth alongside the words โHey look Iโm selling a fantastic painting, while eating a baby aliveโ. The blood libel โ in which Jews are accused of murdering infants in order to use their blood for ritualistic purposes โ is a classic antisemitic trope which has been continually reworked into modern manifestations.
โข Several paintings referred to the 7th October Hamas massacre: one apparently bearing the words: โno evidence that sexual violence was used as a weapon on October 7,โ and โno beheaded babies, no evidence of rapes.โ.
โข Pieces depicting the British Prime Minister as slavishly following orders from the Jews or the Jewish state โ yet another classic trope.
โข Paintings juxtaposing stars of David โ the best-known symbol of Judaism and the emblem of the state of Israel โ with Nazi imagery.
Given this history, it is difficult to believe that the chosen date for the exhibition to finish its run is a coincidence. Should the same antisemitic tropes reappear, closing on the third anniversary of the brutal 7th October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel would be an affront to British Jews.
To add insult to injury, HARTslane Gallery has publicly rejected the International (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism, characterising its โenforcementโ in the art sector as a symptom of โincreasing state repression on free speechโ. This stands in direct contravention of Lewisham Councilโs adoption of the Definition in 2019.
Knowing what his last exhibition contained, we are deeply concerned that he is being given a platform to showcase his work in a building owned by Lewisham Council โ particularly at a time when Jewish communities across Britain are facing unprecedented levels of violence.
We will be writing to @LewishamCouncil to ensure it upholds its responsibility to take its own commitments to combating antisemitism seriously.
