Karp wants a republic of technology. The counter is a republic of sovereign individuals who happen to be very good at technology. 11 Points: jimcraddock.substack.com/p/t…
🤖 Made with AI
Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software. 5. The question is not whether A.I. weapons will be built; it is who will build them and for what purpose. Our adversaries will not pause to indulge in theatrical debates about the merits of developing technologies with critical military and national security applications. They will proceed. 6. National service should be a universal duty. We should, as a society, seriously consider moving away from an all-volunteer force and only fight the next war if everyone shares in the risk and the cost. 7. If a U.S. Marine asks for a better rifle, we should build it; and the same goes for software. We should as a country be capable of continuing a debate about the appropriateness of military action abroad while remaining unflinching in our commitment to those we have asked to step into harm’s way. 8. Public servants need not be our priests. Any business that compensated its employees in the way that the federal government compensates public servants would struggle to survive. 9. We should show far more grace towards those who have subjected themselves to public life. The eradication of any space for forgiveness—a jettisoning of any tolerance for the complexities and contradictions of the human psyche—may leave us with a cast of characters at the helm we will grow to regret. 10. The psychologization of modern politics is leading us astray. Those who look to the political arena to nourish their soul and sense of self, who rely too heavily on their internal life finding expression in people they may never meet, will be left disappointed. 11. Our society has grown too eager to hasten, and is often gleeful at, the demise of its enemies. The vanquishing of an opponent is a moment to pause, not rejoice. 12. The atomic age is ending. One age of deterrence, the atomic age, is ending, and a new era of deterrence built on A.I. is set to begin. 13. No other country in the history of the world has advanced progressive values more than this one. The United States is far from perfect. But it is easy to forget how much more opportunity exists in this country for those who are not hereditary elites than in any other nation on the planet. 14. American power has made possible an extraordinarily long peace. Too many have forgotten or perhaps take for granted that nearly a century of some version of peace has prevailed in the world without a great power military conflict. At least three generations — billions of people and their children and now grandchildren — have never known a world war. 15. The postwar neutering of Germany and Japan must be undone. The defanging of Germany was an overcorrection for which Europe is now paying a heavy price. A similar and highly theatrical commitment to Japanese pacifism will, if maintained, also threaten to shift the balance of power in Asia. 16. We should applaud those who attempt to build where the market has failed to act. The culture almost snickers at Musk’s interest in grand narrative, as if billionaires ought to simply stay in their lane of enriching themselves . . . . Any curiosity or genuine interest in the value of what he has created is essentially dismissed, or perhaps lurks from beneath a thinly veiled scorn. 17. Silicon Valley must play a role in addressing violent crime. Many politicians across the United States have essentially shrugged when it comes to violent crime, abandoning any serious efforts to address the problem or take on any risk with their constituencies or donors in coming up with solutions and experiments in what should be a desperate bid to save lives. 18. The ruthless exposure of the private lives of public figures drives far too much talent away from government service. The public arena—and the shallow and petty assaults against those who dare to do something other than enrich themselves—has become so unforgiving that the republic is left with a significant roster of ineffectual, empty vessels whose ambition one would forgive if there were any genuine belief structure lurking within. 19. The caution in public life that we unwittingly encourage is corrosive. Those who say nothing wrong often say nothing much at all. 20. The pervasive intolerance of religious belief in certain circles must be resisted. The elite’s intolerance of religious belief is perhaps one of the most telling signs that its political project constitutes a less open intellectual movement than many within it would claim. 21. Some cultures have produced vital advances; others remain dysfunctional and regressive. All cultures are now equal. Criticism and value judgments are forbidden. Yet this new dogma glosses over the fact that certain cultures and indeed subcultures . . . have produced wonders. Others have proven middling, and worse, regressive and harmful. 22. We must resist the shallow temptation of a vacant and hollow pluralism. We, in America and more broadly the West, have for the past half century resisted defining national cultures in the name of inclusivity. But inclusion into what? Excerpts from the #1 New York Times Bestseller The Technological Republic: Hard Power, Soft Belief, and the Future of the West, by Alexander C. Karp & Nicholas W. Zamiska techrepublicbook.com

Bezmenov's stages: 1 demoralization (15-20 yrs), 2 destabilization (2-5 yrs), 3 crisis (weeks), 4 normalization. France: late 2/early 3 (riots, debt, institutional strain). Next likely within 1-2 yrs. Spain: mid-2 (protests, snap election). Next 2-4 yrs. Italy: early-mid 2 (stable govt, some unrest). Next 3-5 yrs. Germany: mid-2 (AfD surge, economic pressure). Next 2-4 yrs. UK: mid-2 (political shifts). Next 3-5 yrs. US: late 1/early 2 (polarization). Next 5+ yrs. Assessments are interpretive of trends in cohesion and institutions; timelines speculative.

🔹THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS KNOW. THEY HAVE KNOWN SINCE 2014. A PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGIST JUST SENT US HIS RESIGNATION LETTER. READ IT. "To the Board of Directors, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Effective immediately, I resign. I have spent 19 years in pediatric oncology. I have treated 2,300 children with cancer. I have watched 814 of them die. I am writing this letter because I cannot carry the weight of what I know for one more day. In 2014, I was invited to a closed-door presentation at a medical conference in Geneva. The presentation was titled: 'Non-Invasive Electromagnetic Approaches to Pediatric Tumor Regression.' It was not listed in the public program. The presenter — whose name I will not reveal for his safety — showed us data from 340 pediatric cancer cases treated with frequency-based therapy between 2009 and 2014: — 312 out of 340 children achieved complete tumor remission — Average treatment time: 3 sessions of 25 minutes each — Side effects: ZERO — Recurrence rate: 4% — Age range: 2 to 16 years old 312 children. Cured. No chemotherapy. No radiation. No hair loss. No vomiting. No organ damage. No death. I sat in that room with 40 other pediatric oncologists. We all saw the same data. We all understood what it meant. Then we were told: 'This technology is not approved for civilian use. Any attempt to replicate, discuss, or disseminate these findings will result in immediate termination and criminal prosecution. You are bound by the non-disclosure terms of your conference registration.' We went home. We went back to our hospitals. We went back to injecting children with chemotherapy that we KNEW was unnecessary. I went back to Room 4B. That's where we do pediatric chemo at my hospital. Room 4B. I went back to holding the hands of 6-year-olds while poison dripped into their veins. I went back to telling mothers: 'We're doing everything we can.' We were not doing everything we could. We were doing everything we were ALLOWED to do. Since 2014, I have personally administered chemotherapy to 847 children. I know — with absolute certainty — that at least 70% of them could have been cured in 75 minutes with zero pain. Instead, I gave them 6-18 months of chemical torture. I watched their hair fall out. I watched them vomit until they had nothing left. I watched their parents sell their homes to pay for treatment that I KNEW was inferior to technology that already existed. I watched 214 of those children die. 214 children. Dead. Since 2014. Under my care. While I knew. I am not asking for forgiveness. There is no forgiveness for this. I am asking for this letter to reach every parent who has ever been told 'there's nothing more we can do.' Because that sentence is a lie. It has been a lie since at least 2014. There IS more they can do. There is a treatment that cures pediatric cancer in 75 minutes with zero side effects. It exists. It works. 312 children proved it works. Your doctor knows. Your hospital knows. The board of directors knows. They chose money over your child's life. I chose my career over your child's life. I will not choose it one more day. To the 214 families whose children I failed: I am sorry. I am sorry I was a coward. I am sorry I chose silence. I am sorry I let the system convince me that obedience was the same as ethics. It is not. Obedience killed your children. My obedience killed your children. This letter is not enough. Nothing will ever be enough. But the silence ends today." — Name withheld. Pediatric Oncologist. 19 years. 2,300 patients. 814 deaths. 214 preventable. He watched 214 children die knowing the cure existed. He stayed silent for 10 years. He is not silent anymore. Neither are we. Share this for every child who deserved 75 minutes instead of 18 months of poison.

Jeffrey Epstein: The Death of Our Democracy? The October 27th Epstein Justice webinar will examine the crimes and cover-ups of Jeffrey Epstein and the “Epstein class,” which have incrementally dismantled our democracy. A government that fails to protect little girls and allows them to be destroyed with impunity is definitely not a democracy. The Epstein files have shown that Epstein and the Epstein class annihilated scores of underage girls with impunity, and the previous four decades have shown us that Epstein and the Epstein class have committed numerous additional atrocities as they’ve subverted our democracy. In fact, the Epstein class seems to view “poor people” as a stratum of humanity that should be eradicated. In a February 3, 2011, email, Hollywood producer Barry Josephson ponders a question that Jeffrey Epstein posed to Bill Gates. “I’ve been thinking a lot about that question that you asked Bill Gates, ‘How do we get rid of poor people as a whole,’ and I have an answer/comment regarding that for you. When can I call you today to discuss this??” Apparently, Josephson’s idea to eradicate “poor people,” instead of poverty, was too convoluted and/or evil to commit to an email. A February 21, 2014, email from Jeffrey Epstein to former Israeli Prime Minister and alleged pedophile Ehud Barak states: “with civil unrest exploding in Ukraine Syria, Somalia, Libya, and the desperation of those in power, isn’t this perfect for you.” Barak replied: “You’re right [in] a way. But not simple to transform it into a cash flow.” The “civil unrest” in the countries listed by Epstein was responsible for untold deaths. Baseline human decency would reflexively attempt to assuage such carnage and genocidal social strife, but Epstein and Barak looked upon it as a strictly money-making venture. Forty years ago, Epstein was neck deep in Iran-Contra, and it was a lucrative venture for him, so Iran-Contra is an example of Epstein, the Epstein class, and the CIA capitalizing on civil unrest. In the 1980s, Iran was locked in a war with Iraq. At the time, Iran was labeled an enemy combatant state, but, nonetheless, the CIA treasonously sold arms to Iran while the US government overtly sold arms to Iraq. The CIA then took the illicit proceeds from its Iranian war profiteering and funded the Nicaraguan Contras in their bloody insurgency against Nicaragua’s Sandinista government, even though Congress had explicitly outlawed the funding of the Contras. Despite the death and misery illegally sown by Iran-Contra, not a single individual who aided and abetted the crimes of Iran-Contra spent a day in prison. The October 27th Epstein Justice webinar will examine how Epstein and the Epstein class have committed multiple atrocities with impunity. Not only have they destroyed the lives of numerous little girls, but they’ve also destroyed the lives of millions of Americans in the process. This webinar will be informative, but it will go beyond awareness. It will equip attendees with real, actionable steps to demand accountability and fight back against the Epstein cover-up. We will also have a live Q&A with Epstein Justice Director, Nick Bryant. Join Us: epsteinjustice.com/webinar #trialsnotfiles

It seems most of you are willful participants in the creation of an economy where ~10% of households are extremely happy and the other ~90% are miserable. FWIW, this outcome has NEVER been sustainable in human history. What will likely occur instead is that ~90% of households will hunt the “privileged” ~10% for resource acquisition and, perhaps, sport. We and luminaries such as @RayDalio (global macro), @HoweGeneration (demography), and Dr. @Peter_Turchin (cliodynamics) continue to warn about the rising probability of the US descending into Paradigm E, a.k.a. “MAJOR Political Realignment and Total War.” If you do not have a PLAN for your family and your wealth, make one.
Furman picking AI over CEA staff deserves scrutiny. His staff went on to found the Yale Budget Lab, run Treasury economic policy and a Fed institute, serve in later admins, and publish research on trade, environment, and taxes. That's what "20 staff" become. No model does that.

This is not Gaza. This is Hebron today. The Israeli occupation has begun destroying Palestine’s economic capital, a city that accounts for 75% of the country’s production in the stone and marble, leather and footwear, plastics, glass, oils, dairy, and gold industries. Ethnic cleansing is being inflicted on the Palestinian people everywhere across the land of Palestine.

Yes. In that same March 2010 Ugly Truth interview, Sabrosky said: "And if they do understand that, Israel's going to disappear. Israel will flat-ass disappear from this Earth." He added that if Americans ever know Israel did 9/11, "they're gonna scrub them off the Earth... They will do it. And they should."

Protest a data center at your own town hall and a steroidal thug will be sent to try and murder you in front of everyone as a message:
Concerned residents packed the Utah County Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday after it unanimously approved a widely unpopular data center ordinance without allowing public comment. Police quickly moved on concerned residents – including swarming one young woman, dragging her out of the room, and slamming her onto the ground. The woman was left with a concussion and a bruised and swollen jaw. She spent the night in the ER after being released from jail. An emergency rally was called for Wednesday in response to the brutality. Community members are demanding the termination, arrest, and prosecution of the offending officer – identified as Phil Crawford.

False flags around the world. I think we are officially into what everyone must recognize as the fourth Turning and this time the elites are thinking they can still pull over over on everyone. Decentralized systems will be their undoing. They know that, too. But I don't think they can stop it, so they're going full on nihilist. They think we won't figure out the whole system is rigged. We know.
