This is quite something ! Serbian RTV channel starts yesterday's bulletin by apologizing to viewers👇 "For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly and failed to ask necessary questions. We owe our viewers an apology”

Shift to distributed energy such as solar, wind and batteries, grid strengthening. These are lessons for everyone, as emphasised by Alexander De Croo, former Belgian prime minister and now administrator of the United Nations Development Programme. cleaninguppod.substack.com/p…

Wrote this a week ago on Israeli elections. The policy debate in this election is limited. The games start when the voting stops as the bartering for power kick off. In terms of where Israel is headed re: the Palestinians & the region, little will change arab.news/bqqj8

I believe that is very true. Therefore it paid profitability bonuses for any employees that were eligible.
I am led to understand that money extorted from SubPostMasters went into a Post Office suspense account. It lay there for many months before the end of the next financial year. Prior to filing the accounts this money was moved across to 'receipts' thus showing as a trading profit in the P&L Statement. The accountants carrying out the audit should have queried whence this money came. They probably knew though.

I have literally spent the last month trekking around Jordan interviewing elderly Nakba survivors and hearing their harrowing stories- and just completed a three hour video interview on Saturday night. No one I talked to left before multiple neighbours or family members had been shot and killed. Few of them had any weapons of any sort to protect themselves and if they did they were ancient Turkish muskets. Their opponents were armed with modern, newly-imported Czech rifles and many had been trained and drilled by the British. It became simply suicidal to remain, though many old people tried to so. The guy I interviewed on Saturday fled with his mother after their village was bombed. Their father remained and was loaded onto a truck to Gaza, at gunpoint, by the Haganah. Many of the family members that remained in Gaza have been killed in the last two years

Latest accounts show Tony Blair Institute makes $ millions in losses for 3rd year running -Blair lecturing on "the market" while making losses (possibly cos he gets big $$$ advising autocrats but he likes spending on less profitable UK influence) in current @PrivateEyeNews

The bills are in for this month and as we desperately try to ensure we have money in the bank, we are facing a cash-flow problem now, as we struggle to find the money to pay a £350 bill due tomorrow. Please donate whatever you can afford to help us pay our pressing bills.
Maybe it is time for people in Scotland who believe in fair and balanced Scottish and international news programmes, produced in Scotland, for Scotland, to just ignore the BBC and get behind funding Scotland's independent broadcaster. broadcastingscotland.scot/do…

Election day in Israel has not been quiet. Voters have already seen an attempt to stab Democrat party leader Yair Golan, allegations of fraud by Arab-Israeli voters, and record-breaking turnout.

Resilient economy will be tested by this very recent sharp movement up in market gas prices - this is the UK chart per therm close to 240p on Iran war reintensification, a high since late 2022. If you transpose the Ukraine 2022 shock on this, at the same stage, while avoiding the massive spike, after 241 days, today’s shock is more enduring… prices have trebled from 79p, whereas at this point for the Ukraine it was 204p, actually below pre invasion level. Energy companies say the unit prices of gas and electricity are heading higher than the point which led to expensive universal Govt intervention in 2022, the sort ruled out this time (“wasted on rich households”). Still whatever the Budget brings we weren’t expecting activation of the plans prepared for a bigger scheme. If this endures, 5% inflation on the cards. Since the Budget plans and forecasts were locked down, the tricky balancing act just got worse.

Israeli turnout now at 55.7% as of 4pm — up 8% on 2022 and the highest ever recorded in Israeli history. There are still six hours left of voting from 4pm and the Central Elections Committee says polling stations must remain open if there are voters still queuing.
