“I mean, we’re paying people not to work,” Mr. Kudlow said on CNN. “It’s better than their salaries would get." -guy talking about less than $30k/yr. Sounds like a problem with the salaries not the benefits...

Boundaries are hard. Easy to say "all the streets in Portland" but behind that are choices about: which source (OpenStreetMap), which Portland (Metro Planning Area), which "in" (intersects boundary). One answer is there are about 270k street segments in Portland (17.7km/11k mi).

Some of the clearest writing I've seen on local pandemic research & policy by @gmleunghku. Addresses data/modeling issues that make me yell at my (hopefully) muted zoom meeting window while reading news. nytimes.com/2020/04/06/opini…
Has anyone looked into the perception of these stair+elevator overcrossings for bikes (news.trimet.org/2020/01/new-…)? Are we going to regret these in 10 years? @NITC_UTC @BikePortland @FTA_DOT @trimet

A report prepared by @DrMarisaZapata1 and @joebroach of @psu_research in partnership with @ExploreWAPark found that people of color are under-represented among park visitors coming from within the Portland region, but the trend has improved from 2014-2017. trec.pdx.edu/news/equitable-…

The result of a fun add-on to our Family Activity Study. We occasionally sent out web maps asking which mode (bike, walk, bus, drive) was actually being used. Results helped us improve our own detection rates.

We partnered with @ExploreWAPark to better understand how to meet the needs of underserved populations in Washington Park. @DrMarisaZapata1 and @joebroach of @psu_research prepared a report with region-wide #equity data on race, income and transit service. trec.pdx.edu/news/equitable-…
Great question from @OregonDOT's Josh Roll for today's bicycle modeling presenters: "Do any of you bicycle regularly?" None did (but all used to). Does it matter? I'm not sure, but interesting. #trbappcon
