I'm 62. I'm supposed to be slowing down and talking about the good old days of the internet. Instead I'm building new things with AI almost every day and having more fun than I did in 1995.

I used to think success meant getting bigger. At my peak I had 39 employees and was burning $200,000 a month. It nearly took me down. Now I think the best business is one small enough that it's still fun to run.

Hey, I said that more web extensions were coming. I already finished this one a while back and it just got approved by Google. Introducing Wordplay - set rules to automatically replace or format words and phrases all over the internet. It's great for making your browsing experience a little sillier. chromewebstore.google.com/de…

For anyone over 50: does AI make you feel left behind, or like you finally got a second shot? For me, it's a second shot. I haven't felt this energized in quite some time.

I saw a piece of art that featured Jim Morrison created as art derived from song lyrics and thought that it would be fun to build a photo of me that in the same style that featured my bio. This was the result. I call it a Biograph. You can create your own hi-res image with whatever text you want to overlay for free. Link in first comment. Have fun and show me your creation!

In 1996 my website had a newsletter with a 99.6% open rate, busy chat rooms and coverage on CBS. It had zero revenue. I burned through a $25,000 angel check, and by mid-year I was broke. I confused attention with a business. Have you ever mistaken buzz for a business?

In 1980 I bought a TRS-80 Model 1 from Radio Shack with pizza-job money. 4K of memory. Programs loaded from a cassette tape. My mother asked, "What are you going to do with a computer?" I didn't know. I've been finding out ever since. Here's what it taught me about AI:

5. Teach what you just learned. I wrote down what I learned about AdSense. That became The AdSense Code, which hit #8 on the New York Times list in 2006. Today I do the same thing with AI.

6. You're not behind. You're early. Again. That's why I host the AI for Everyone Show, for people who didn't grow up speaking "geek." Which of these have you seen in your own work? aiforeveryoneshow.com

Was in a convenience store in Bruges this week. I must confess that my eye caught this on the shelf and I thought @elonmusk had created Grok cookies. I mean, at this point nothing would surprise me. @grok have you thought about getting into the snacks business?

Every time I discovered game-changing tech, I embraced it and my world was rocked for several years. With AI, my world is rocked weekly. The new discoveries and possibilities come in waves, one after another. I'm like a kid in a candy store. How 'bout you?

In 2023 I was sitting in Puerto Rico asking myself what was next. Speaking had dried up and nothing excited me. Then AI clicked. Today I'm speaking on AI, have a book coming out in December, and I’m helping regular people actually use it.

I’ve not had many jobs in my life, but one of my favorites was at the age of 23 in 1987. I was the guy playing the light show at an upscale nightclub in Dallas called Brio. Bringing the music to life visually was like playing an instrument. Most fun I was ever paid hourly to do.

Two of these are true. One is a lie I'm hoping you fall for. Bluff is one of the little brain games I made. Five rounds, and they get harder. Reply with how far you got. I'm curious how many of you call every bluff. games.aiforeveryoneshow.com/…

Elon Musk on Grok Bot: "We're seeing the fastest growth of a product that I've ever seen in my life. I've never seen anything growth this fast. The usage of Grok Bot per user actually has been growing over time. They are using it more per week, not less. Enterprise Grok Bot will be in wide deployment in a few weeks. I think Grok Bot will use most of SI compute."
