What’s astounding is that so many of the public just looked on as charlatans siphoned up taxpayers money in the belief that Green hydrogen was a viable source of energy when the majority of the public would have no idea what green hydrogen is&how dangerous hydrogen is to handle

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM for their own PCs is a waste and instead should be saved for data centers "It’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."

So if I purchase a DVD and digitize it, that’s copyright infringement. But if an AI company buys my book and scans it to train their system, that’s perfectly fine? Once again, corporations are allowed to play by their own rules. I’m so sick of the hypocrisy.

The Chinese stock market exists to teach the Chinese to keep their day job. The only way to win a small fortune in it is to start with a big one.

I too agree that SA's remarks are way too irresponsible, inconsiderate, and ext. selfish AF...... Tech is not always about progress but regress, as exemplified here, due mostly to human corp. greed......

So the people in charge last time who failed, are now being transferred to a new department to do the same thing again? Sounds like they are just painting shit white and trying to convince us it’s vanilla ice cream.

What if Marx was right about owning the means of production but just horribly wrong on the long term timeline and limited by his imagination
NEW: Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” for everyday people to own RAM, arguing it belongs in data centers.

Sam Altman thinks RAM sitting in personal computers is a waste when it could be put to better use in data centers. Weird. I was just thinking that all those billions sitting in billionaires’ bank accounts could be put to much better use in our communities.
